@TheHistoryOfTh2 I don't know a single thing about Mr. Harris. I like his take on Israel versus her enemies though. We need to support Western Civilization wherever it's planted.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I don't trust the term "tax break" in these situations. It's entirely likely the term is used for the same tax breaks any other business is entitled to: Capital depreciation, expense write-offs, R&D credits, etc.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I'll never forget the NY Times religion reporter covering Pope Benedict's mass on Easter. She described Easter as "the day Christian's believe Jesus ascended into heaven". **SIGH** It's one thing for the reporter to err. So also did the "layers of editorial control".
@TheHistoryOfTh2 A couple of years ago, I attended an August event in Austin. I landed at 6:00PM. It was STILL 106 F outside! As I walked around the lovely downtown I kept thinking, "California must be worse than I thought for people to beat a path HERE!"
@TheHistoryOfTh2 There is no greater PR firm than "Team Marx". How something as demonstrably disastrous as Marxism lives on is a compliment to the PR team. "Team Austria" or "Team Chicago" could take a lesson or two.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 The story really is Entrepreneurs flocked to Colorado, voted for the same type of government they fled, and now theyโre shocked red tape is strangling them. Itโs not hard.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I've never owned intellectual property, so it's easy for me to despise non-competes. I'm just glad I got through my career without having to sign one.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I grew up in Illinois. We were taught to revere Lincoln and Grant. We also had some respect for Gen. Lee. I spoke with a park ranger once at Appomattox Courthouse: A native Virginian. I asked what she was taught about Grant. "A monster!" She has since changed her mind of course.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I grew up in Chicagoland. Pizza was awesome for us. I still see the Tavern Style thin crust as the Holy Grail.
Good pizza is MUCH more broadly available now though. No doubt.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 I've studied religion over my lifetime. I've long thought modern day Progressivism is a theology. The word "blasphemy" makes complete sense under this interpretation.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 With epistemic humility, there are strong strategic reasons to strike now:
1.) The Iranian proxies have never been weaker.
2.) The Iranian air defenses were smashed in the June War.
3.) Oil is available in the west.
I donโt know if war is right or wrong, but Iran was exposed.
@TheHistoryOfTh2 Private sector unions also have corporate bankruptcy to worry about if they get too aggressive. No such "check" applies to public sector unions. A government unit will simply raise taxes to pay for crazy contracts.
@TheHistoryOfTh2@ill_Scholar I work in a very narrow technology field. All my competitors are "small". (The largest does $400m/year). Without fail, PE has wrecked my competitors. It has been part of the secret to my success. PE may work in other fields. Not mine.
