Almost all of the big space conferences I’m aware of are heavily reliant on extortive sponsor-to-speak business models which grossly favor incumbents defending turf against pesky startups instead of interesting and valuable content. Sign of a stagnant industry in crisis imo.

@robertleelittle @DJSnM Per your request, I will correct you. The Moon is nodally locked and the same side of the Moon is always facing the Earth. IM-1 landed near the lunar South Pole during the lunar day. It will always be facing the Earth. Only the descent burn initiates on the far side.

@MasterActual @umbraspace +1 on the moving train with higher offset from the track when it's more aligned with the satellite track. Double bounce specular reflection from shipping containers on a flatbed carriage? I think the train velocity is perhaps towards the upper right from the parallel offsets.

According to Space News, China appears to have launched a geosynchronous L-band SAR satellite. This just doesn't seem to make sense...so what's the real mission? 1/10

If China is operating an agile high power L-band emitter in geo in this theater of operations, one might be especially concerned about potential interference w/ the low power GPS L-band channels at inopportune times and locations in the SCS and Taiwan. 9/10
