Flempton, Suffolk. Is this Chelostoma? Tiny bee with pollen carried under abdomen and appears to line the sides of the cavity with it ⁦@StevenFalk1⁩ ⁦@lisajrwilliams⁩

@dku1000 @markhows This is so helpful Mark and I am very grateful. This confirms three species breed at @ARochaUK Foxearth Meadows. I found a Water Shrew nest under a roofing felt refugia mat in 2022.

Top animal head & body 60mm : tail 40mm; lower animal 54mm : 45mm. Are these both Pygmy Shrews? @Mammal_Society @EssexWT_Darren @ARochaUK #foxearthmeadows

@dku1000 @markhows Thank you both. Is the head-body:tail ratio helpful? Or is there an overlap? Also I could not discern the bicolour - Pygmy/tricolour -common, coat difference that internet sources talk about. Both these have the same colour grading from upper to underside.

Bird’s foot treefoil! Northstowe, Cambs. This new housing area is hugely encouraging as an example of how people and wildlife can coexist. Plastic tube rage and some weed killer use aside, the sensitive mowing is good to see.
