Today @GovofCO@jaredpolis unveiled Colorado's second Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap – our state's comprehensive plan to
to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution in half by 2030, and make progress toward net-zero GHG pollution in Colorado by 2050.
We continue to make bold progress toward 100% renewable energy that helps save people money and protect Coloradans from the volatile price swings of natural gas. I am excited about the many opportunities available to Coloradans to save money on electric home upgrades that reduce reliance on natural gas and save money. The vast majority of your natural gas bill is due to fuel costs -- which, as we've seen, can swing wildly. The reverse is true for your electric bill, meaning more stable and predictable bills. To avoid having to pay for price changes that happen in the global market, think about switching to electric options.
Together, we can lower utility bills and stay warm for the next cold snap.

@noahqk It also seems like a general mistake to have separated the benefits of climate mitigation from the public health benefits of improved air quality. Clean energy solves for both, and the air pollution harms are already huge... https://t.co/Dymja2FUPR
Our housing and transit goals go hand in hand with our climate goals and our affordability goals. As they say in the Mandalorian - “this is the way.”

Time for my annual end of year tweetstorm on Colorado climate action! Been a big year – huge federal grants, groundbreaking housing/land use legislation, new $ for transit, nation-leading utility clean heat programs, all the way to CO taking first place for EV market share. (0/n)
We welcome America’s new 2035 climate pollution reduction goal — & no matter the obstacles, our governors will carry the torch forward.

Coloradans are purchasing electric vehicles at a higher rate than any other state because they are affordable, quiet, and a great ride. EVs are helping us reach our bold climate goals and protect our clean air. This new data shows that demand for EVs continues to increase and especially with competitive state and federal rebates, drastically cutting the cost of an EV and saving people money.
Today, many Coloradans do not have a safe, quick, and reliable alternative to driving for many daily tasks. With Transportation Vision: 2035, we are setting the path to expand options like bus, train, biking or walking, that save time and money, reduce traffic, and cut pollution. This is about providing choice and convenience and lowering the cost of living for Coloradans. It takes all of us working together - across federal, regional, state, and local government - to build a healthy, affordable future for Colorado.
I am continually grateful to work for a @GovofCO who has a deep understanding of the links between housing, land use, transit and both climate and affordability. Love this big vision and looking forward to working on it! https://t.co/6YjdGV1mXJ
"Colorado’s Vision 2035 affirms the state’s commitment to wielding that power to save households money, reduce pollution, &increase economic opportunity for all—with lessons for any other state committed to tackling these issues head-on."- @alana_miller13 https://t.co/EV84fvQu90
Proud to launch @govs4democracy, an alliance of governors working to fortify and uphold essential Constitutional rights nationwide. GSD will serve as a powerful force in state-level efforts to make sure our democracy thrives for generations to come. https://t.co/EdYWQUWkcD
Prosperity and abundance agenda. We have focused on saving people money through three income tax rate reductions (two at the ballot box and one through the leg: 4.63%>4.5%>4.4%>4.25%), cutting property taxes, free preschool and kindergarten for every child, eliminating sales tax on necessities like diapers and feminine hygiene products, and we are in the process of delivering on pro-housing supply solutions, investing in transit and transit-enhanced living opportunities… all while protecting and expanding personal freedom and respect for everyone
Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump. Colorado remains strongly committed to protecting freedom, choice, and the opportunity for everyone to build the life they want in our great state. That is true no matter who is serving in the White House and I will work with the President-elect however I can to save people money, create more good-paying jobs, increase access to housing Coloradans can afford, protect our water and air quality, and improve our roads and bridges. I hope President-elect Trump and Vice-President-Elect Vance take this opportunity to try to unite our country and set aside the campaign's divisive rhetoric. No matter what, the Free State of Colorado will remain a beacon that reflects the values of economic liberty and personal liberty that this country was built on, and we will do everything in our power to protect all Coloradans and our freedoms.
We also thank Vice-President Kamala Harris for running a strong, historic and issues-based campaign and appreciate her service to our country.
Colorado is leading the nation in building a clean energy future that saves people money, improves our air, and drives our strong economy. It was great to join Department of Energy Deputy Secretary David Turk to celebrate a $50 million grant from the Biden-Harris administration to Colorado-based Solid Power, which manufactures batteries for electric vehicles.
Today, more than 22% of new cars sold in Colorado are electric, making Colorado third in the nation for EV market share. As more and more people drive electric cars, the need for new chemistries to create the next generation of batteries to power EVs increases as well.
We are excited that these efforts are spearheaded right here in Colorado.
