@ChiefsInsider It would be wise to hold off on breaking ground until the new CBA is in place. Union members may not work, and without a cap then a new place won’t make a difference. A new ballpark means at least 30 more seasons of mediocre baseball at best, and no stadium means they’ll move.

I’ve told my Fantasy Football colleagues “I am self-hazing.” I used prize money to buy the @Royals streaming package, and I make myself watch so I won’t make any more horrid decisions. It’s a little like getting a root canal from a proctologist.

Royals fans have FINALLY met at the intersection of Total Frustration and Opportunity To Do Something. No groundbreaking on the new place until the new CBA is in place and w/o a cap, why bother?

@klseaboldt Keeping the assets and the load of manure are perceived as necessary by the franchise to aid in getting a new stadium built in Jackson County. On the flip side, a quarter on the Opening Day roster is on the IL, which would be seen as bad luck for almost every team. (1/2)

@jazayerli If I remember right, the Royals had a fire sale just before the ‘94 strike, getting rid of anybody of value. It seems only BWJ is untouchable at this point.

@jazayerli Trading Lugo and/or Wacha takes KC from hoping not to lose 100 to a virtual guarantee. Bad publicity for a team trying to build a new ballpark.

@FlannyMLB Since 1994, KC has 6 winning seasons, including ‘03. The team has 7 100-loss years and 8 more campaigns with 90-99 defeats. They have lost about 40 more games than any other team in that span.

If I hear “I have a family to feed,” I may actually hurl.

@FlannyMLB @Swanee54 I stayed away from MLB for about 15 seasons after the strike, and came back only after moving and needing a way to connect with new friends. I’m nowhere near the fan I was prior to
1994.
If MLB emerges from this stoppage, no matter how long, without a cap, I’m done for good.
