In a commodity market the avg producer operates @ a breakeven. Know your numbers is my point

Frosty morning in NE SD. Final group of calves in. Experiment time - 120 hd avg 476# split into (4) 30 hd groups. All got normal protocol, 2 pens (60) also got FerAppease. Will process again after Xmas to get weights & compare. Some guys swear by it, others say snake oil. #beef

@silagechopper Took the reins on feedlot after college in 18’. 19’ changed my perspective, convinced dad we need to invest in infrastructure. Can actually sleep @ night with a concrete payment compared to seeing cattle fight conditions. Trying to work pouring lil more every yr into the budget.

Markets so far outta whack it’s easy to lose your sh*t focusing on it. There are many positives tho. Prob best start to a turn of calves I’ve experienced, great weather, pen conditions, intakes, & pull rates. Control what you can and stay the course. #beef
