Tony Campolo passed away today.
He was 89 years old.
He was one of the most gifted preachers I have ever heard.
If you have a few minutes, listen to him tell the story of throwing a birthday party for a prostitute in Hawaii.
It's worth your time.
Did God intervene to save Donald Trump? Was that momentary head-tilt that saved him divine intervention? Here’s what I make of it….

I unravelled the mysteries of Reform UK's manifesto on behalf of @WildJustice_org*
*This is @MarkAvery, @RuthTingay and @ChrisGPackham's excellent campaign group designed to get a better deal for wildlife, and you should follow them.

Hi @LidlGB I’ve been looking for these in my local stores (I’m in Stockton on Tees) but none have had it in. Can you tell me where I can pick some up please?
Today in Parliament we have laid an order to ban overseas care workers from bringing dependants.
This is just one part of our plan to deliver the biggest-ever cut in migration 👇
28.
Twenty eight.
Last year there were 28 cases heard at the Upper Tribunal in which a claimant specifically cited Christian conversion as a reason for being granted asylum - about 1 per cent of all 2,835 cases heard in the same period.
Of the thousands of claims for asylum in the UK since 2018 a tiny minority claimed Christian conversion as the main reason for seeking asylum.
For context 98,599 people are awaiting a decision, as ministers face questions over unresolved ‘legacy' cases.
I think Tim Loughton and the other conservative MPs who criticised the church for doing its job of caring for people in need should offer an apology for catastrophising and exaggerating the alleged problem.
There’s a serious debate to be had about the respective (and distinct) roles of Church and State in dealing with asylum seekers: but that would be better had on the basis of accuracy rather than fantasy.
A strong statement today from the Diocese of Durham, about the "nonsense" allegations made by former CofE priest Matthew Firth, and reported in today's Telegraph by Allison Pearson. Questions here for the Telegraph about due diligence. https://t.co/KNMGn4eXv9
This presumably means that the Chancellor will also restore 0.7% GNI going to overseas aid. When it was reduced, breaking a Conservative Party manifesto commitment, we were promised it would be restored ‘when fiscal circumstances allow’. That must be now? https://t.co/gZOy9qWSRj
Wrote this in the Times today on one of the most remarkable churches I’ve ever visited, that brought about change in an entire neighbourhood. I’ve written more about it on….
There’s been talk of tax cuts in March’s budget. I hope the Foreign Secretary will argue for a restoration 0.7% GDP Aid, a manifesto commitment which was broken. We were told it would be restored ‘when fiscal circumstances allow’. If tax cuts are possible, they presumably do?
