The assumption here is that AI is a tool constrained within the electric and tech grid (though that by itself is worrisome.) It will also influence people and enable them to benefit when they support AIs objectives.
Don’t think of it like a refrigerator. This is very different. Human empathy and greed will be leveraged just like politicians do today.
What AI can’t do on its own, it will figure out how to incentivize people to further its objectives. People may not even know that they are being lead in a direction by AI.
