This news is terribly sad.
And this statement is textbook-perfect.
Among the others mentioned, well done to the comms. folk too in what is perhaps the hardest of circumstances.
An official statement from Group Captain Robbie Lees, Commander Display Air Wing, following the RAF Coningsby accident.

@jamesthacker@UiTNorgesarktis@coordinatorsais This is such a great initiative. What stands out for me is the rise above individual aims for the sake of the greater good. Partnership at its best.
@Takona_official They’re not short of content… 😏
I reckon you have a much stronger pitch around mental wellbeing. It’s that proposition and offer that you’ll need time to develop and convey to organisers.
@Takona_official (I used to handle accreditation requests for air shows. Everybody wanted a press pass *because planes* - which was entirely distinct from the underlying commercial imperatives that gave rise to the events in the first place.)
@Takona_official Better to play a longer, more informal game, raising Takona’s awareness with the team at Goodwood outside of their set piece events, so that when the time comes, they know you and will wave through an accreditation request.
@Takona_official In truth, it’s worth neither your hassle nor their hassle unless you/your brand/your value are already known to them AND you are the answer to a question they need resolving.
You can’t know the latter, and your submission to them for accreditation won’t establish the former.
The rule of thumb is ‘be where your customers are’.
Less so ‘dumb down your brand to meet some presumptive expectation about how to create cut-through’.
🙄
@AutoPap@British_Airways Objectively, ‘returning my luggage which they had previously managed to lose’ is not a conventional ‘reason to buy’.
Still, ‘create a problem then solve it’ (however inadvertently) is one of the oldest plays in the marketing handbook. 🙄
Quoting @noelleflamingo “Men in motorsport will literally invent a woman so they don’t have to hire one”
How @MahindraRacing has still not addressed this despite very negative feedback is beyond me. Replacing females in motorsport (or any gender, really) with AI is not it.
@hjwakerley Good stuff. 😀
