Some of y’all are really upset because I have WHITE children in my program. It’s been constant in my DMs etc.
And I’m not apologizing for helping a child.
You can debate race, privilege and politics all day. I’m dealing with actual children standing in front of me who need guidance, structure, skills and people who care about them.
When they walk through my doors, they’re MY boys.
They’re going to learn. They’re going to be challenged. They’re going to be corrected. And they’re going to be loved.
I’ve had to grow and challenge some of my own prejudices over the years too.
But one thing I know now: a child’s skin color will NEVER be my reason for refusing to pour into him.
Too many of us are running on fumes, so today, let's pray for a calm & restful Saturday.
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for this day that You declared the Sabbath, a day of rest & recuperation.
Thank You for the many blessings I do not deserve, for protecting me while I slept & this fresh slate in the form of a new day.
Lord, forgive my sins, debts, & trespasses, as I forgive those who have less than pure intentions toward me.
I pray I am understood, because oftentimes I communicate in ways most consider abrasive.
I know I'm rough around the edges, but you know my heart, Lord.
I mean well, & try to help all who need it, even when things are almost too much to bear in my own life.
Help those who feel betrayed by others' deception.
Sometimes people put their trust in the selfish, and they feel like they should blame themselves...
Lord, we know this isn't true.
I pray they keep their heart soft & open to future possibilities.
Lord, a majority of us suffer in silence, & it takes all we have left to maintain a smile.
I pray You lay Your hands on us, relieve pain & lighten the load to help us through the day.
Align this day of the Sabbath with Your divine will.
Guide us on this path You have laid for us; keep our feet grounded so that we stay focused on what truly matters.
I rebuke the devil & all who tempt us into sinful acts today, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, keep us anchored through the chaos of the storm, & lead us to calm waters.
You are my shelter.
I am Your son, just trying to live by Your Living Word.
In the perfect, Almighty name of Jesus,
I pray,
Amen & Amen.
Let's get it.
I’m so proud of myself for how far I’ve come. ❤️
Life doesn’t always go the way I planned, but I’m learning to stay strong, keep believing, and keep pushing forward. I know I have a lot ahead of me, and I’m not going to let anything stop me from chasing my dreams.
I’m going to keep working, keep fighting, and keep believing in the future I want. 🥎❤️
One day at a time. One step at a time. I’ve got this. 🙏

There are some moments as a parent that you know you’ll never forget. This is going to be one of them. 💜🏈
Epilepsy has kept him from a lot of things but since the beginning of the school year, Bryson has been helping with his high school freshman football team as their manager. But he’s never just standing on the sidelines. His coaches have embraced him—letting him help run drills and warm-ups, get the guys fired up, and truly be part of the team.
Last week, the head coach called me with a question I never expected to hear.
He asked how I would feel about letting Bryson SUIT UP for the Homecoming game and be the kicker for the opening kickoff. They would have a plan to safely escort him off the field afterward so there would be no chance of him being tackled.
Through my tears, I said, “Absolutely YES.”
There were still hoops to jump through—approvals to get and even a conversation with the opposing coach.
Then Tuesday, Bryson got the news:
IT’S A GO. 💜
He gets to put on the full uniform. The pads. The helmet. Everything.
And when that ball is placed on the tee, Bryson gets to be the kicker.
I don’t know if there are words for what this means to him—or to us.
Bryson has spent so much of his life on the sidelines cheering for everyone else. He’s helped coach his siblings and his dad’s college players. He has encouraged and celebrated so many athletes while watching them play the game he loves.
But this time, he gets his turn.
For one incredible moment, he gets to walk onto that football field in full gear as part of his team.
He gets to line up.
He gets to kick that football.
And for those few seconds, he won’t be watching someone else live the moment.
It will be HIS moment. 💜🏈
Thank you to a coaching staff that sees Bryson, values him, and was willing to go above and beyond to give him an experience he will remember for the rest of his life.
Homecoming will mean something completely different to us this year.
Go kick that ball, Bryson. We’ll be the loudest ones in the stands. 💜🏈 #fightlikebryson #epilepsywarrior #helmets4helmets #protectlikebrock #GBS
POWERFUL: Alejandro Villanueva served THREE TOURS IN AFGHANISTAN as a U.S. Army Ranger before becoming an #NFL offensive lineman.
Villanueva graduated from West Point and was commissioned into the Army in 2010.
He eventually became a Captain, completed three deployments to Afghanistan and received multiple military honors — including a Bronze Star Medal for Valor for heroism in combat.
Only AFTER all of that did his NFL career take off.
Villanueva eventually became the #Steelers starting left tackle and earned two Pro Bowl selections.
Army Ranger to NFL Pro Bowler.
An unbelievable journey.

I do not speak publicly or put my reputation behind many athletes. This young lady is one of them.
We have worked together for the past year, and from the first time she walked in, I knew she was different.
Her physical presence, athleticism, and strength stood out immediately but about an hour into that first workout, I kept thinking to myself: this girl is going to be really good.
She is committed to every detail. She listens, asks questions, applies it immediately, and when something does not make sense yet, she works relentlessly until she figures it out. Her swing has improved because she has stayed committed to learning how to move efficiently and then transforming those movements back into her swing.
She is powerful, athletic, respectful, coachable, and one of the hardest workers you will find. Any college program looking for a 2027 3B/MI and right-handed power hitter should take a serious look.
She is going to be a dream college athlete for the right program.
