@Paul_Manwaring@ShaneClaiborne Is this a time when the risks of isogesis come to a head? Rome ruled by the sword, therefore we have a scriptural basis to allow a civilised nation to kill
@Paul_Manwaring It doesn't Paul, the jailer in Acts is fearful of his life for losing his prisoners, but that is a reference to practice, not an instruction to the church.
It does tell us to visit the prisoner
@mariana057 When my son was 6, he got a family of 6 stick insects. Writing in his school book, he let his teacher know "over the summer we had sticky sex at our house"
Took a lot of explaining!
@tgiovanetti As a Brit, living over the pond, the link between Church and State can stymie the distinctiveness of Church.
I look across to the US now and wonder if there is any separation of State and Church; and how much damage Christian Nationalism will cause the failure h in years to come
@tgiovanetti Your post popped up on my recommended feed - and I expected to take issue. Rather I have taken time to reflect. The pre-Constantinian church would know no other approach.
Thanks for the time you took to post this
@TRobinsonNewEra As an English man, I am a boat person. With Anglo and Saxon and Norman and Viking and Roman heritage, my ancestors crossed the waters to get to this land. Remigration will give England back to the Britons. The Welsh, Cornish, Scot and those who escaped to Brittany
@georgedmadgwick Can you confirm that if migrants had been present then the actions of motivating fear based on a protected characteristic, threats and potential violence would be acceptable?
Are you, as an elected politician promoting criminal behaviour?
@GaryPetersonUSA@magachrchpastr spoke about how he rescued Lot's wife in Sodom - it wasn't a pillar of salt, but a mistranslation of Pillow and Assault
@Elva63Ky@JosiahHawthorne How do we define love? Is it not putting the needs of the other above your own?
If so both "love" and "submission" are parallel terms.
Jesus calls husbands to put their wives needs first and wives to do the same
