Hi @sainsburys. This is how many bones I found in your “boneless” salmon fillet joint while cooking dinner for my very young children and me. This could easily have caused someone to choke. Really not good enough.
Today, alongside the Scottish Illegal Money Lending Unit @StopLoanSharks and Trading Standards Scotland @TSScot, we are launching a new research report, “It’s always there, like a shadow behind you”: Women’s Experiences of Coerced Debt and Recovery in Scotland.
This report provides, for the first time, a comprehensive picture of the experiences of women affected by coerced debt in Scotland.
Conducted by Scottish Women’s Aid and commissioned by the Scottish Illegal Money Lending Unit and Trading Standards Scotland, the research highlights how coerced debt is used as a tactic of domestic abuse, trapping women and their children in long-term financial hardship.
Through in-depth qualitative research, survivors and Advocacy Workers have shared their experiences in their own words. Together, their voices reveal the scale of coerced debt in Scotland and the devastating impact of economic abuse.
Over the next few weeks, we will share these voices and highlight key findings and recommendations from the report.

An engaging discussion with @PaulMcLennan7 MSP who has been speaking with advisers on topics such as multi-year funding, stigma, Universal Credit, utility costs, and the impact debt can have on families and mental health.
@jennski_27 @FinanciallyIncl Detective Inspector Iain Renfrew from @PoliceScotland sets out how the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act recognises the gravity of domestic abuse and allows officers to better investigate and identify abuse e.g. by no longer looking at incidents in isolation
@jennski_27 Jenn explains coercive debt and gives examples e.g. a partner taking out credit in your name, forcing you into a position where you need credit to survive, and putting bills in your name without consent. This creates financial instability and dependence on the abusive partner
.@jennski_27 explains the difference between financial and economic abuse - #economicabuse goes wider and includes being restricted from using economic resources to create financial dependence
We're about to get started with our panel discussion on #economicabuse. Very pleased to be joined by @jennski_27, @FinanciallyIncl, @PoliceScotland and our MATRICS team for an important and informative session
In the last couple of weeks I've learned from the police / media if I want to avoid going missing or being murdered I need to:
Not be too ambitious or high-achieving.
Not earn more than my partner (too late)
Not go to a park.
Not to drink alcohol.
Not to go through menopause.
All at Falkirk Football Club were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of devoted volunteer and lifelong fan Gordon McFarlane over the weekend.
The thoughts of everyone at The Club are with Gordon’s family and friends at this sad time.

Read this story till the end. During WWII some children were making diaries from concentration camps & occupied cities by nazis. History is repeating. This is a diary of Katya, a 16 years old girl from Mariupol, whose mother died in the basement👇😢
I just talked with a real friend of Ukraine - President of Poland @AndrzejDuda. I am personally grateful to him, to the Polish people, for their effective concrete help in such a difficult time. Together 🇺🇦 🇵🇱 stronger. Thank you
To Ukrainian chefs who are looking for work in the UK, I will pay for two visas and your flights from Poland/Ukraine to UK.
We can also help with accommodation 🙏
If you know anyone already, please do get in touch via restaurant number or [email protected]
I learn to use #Kalashnikov and prepare to bear arms. It sounds surreal as just a few days ago it would never come to my mind. Our #women will protect our soil the same way as our #men. Go #Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Dear world:
Know that at this very moment thousands of #Polish people are offering help to #Ukraine. They're giving lifts for free, providing homes and beds to families escaping the conflict.
There is still much good in this world if you look for it.
