Who I believe are the true “generational” players in today’s NHL:
— Sidney Crosby
— Alex Ovechkin
— Connor McDavid
— Macklin Celebrini
Anyone missing? 🤔
@WildcatOil i think because you only get a player like mathews or bossy usually once in a generation it qualifies them and players like them as generational
i think 34 is a generational goal scorer (51 g pace since 2016 is easily 1st, only player with two 60-goal seasons in the 21st century, etc)
but missing all those games (only two actual 50 goal seasons), his recent drop-off, and his pace falling to 31 in the playoffs is tough
@hockeyFanGOAT@Teppotappo yes i agree did i say otherwise 😭 look at mathews goal scoring feats the only word to describe them is generational obviously mathews isn’t the player his talent should make him but the only player that even holds a candle to his goal scoring talent in the last 25 years is ovi
@Teppotappo he’s a generations goal scorer and in general talent, the original post has celebrini who’s obviously not an all time great either, it’s clearly talking about the individual talent and not accomplishments
