Last days to apply. We are looking for a Computational Technician to provide essential support for large-scale WGS projects, focusing on NGS data processing and database curation. ➡️ Apply here: https://t.co/hkP3WJ2wjp please repost. Thanks!
In this study we have explored the effects of the Amazon rainforest’s dynamism on wild primates’ genetics and increased the representation of platyrrhines, with this we aim to contribute to conservation efforts and future research on the diversity of primate genomics.
While limited by rivers, bald populations show widespread gene flow: these are found in a highly dynamic environment, hypothesized to reduce rivers’ barrier effect. On the contrary, black’s dynamics and structure are driven by stable Negro River and Serra do Imeri mountain range.
We have a new preprint to share. Hint: guenon evolution is a mess!

In my PhD project with @kguschan, we study guenon genomics to learn about speciation processes. In part 1, we focus on ancient hybridization, and found a lot of it. From the top: 1/15
Generation of genome assemblies for 7 major haplogroups of the human Y chromosome at a resolution that overcomes the structurally complex regions. @PaulaEsteller, @PalmadaMarc, @tmarquesbonet, @MarquesBonetLab https://t.co/BSoONoapdE

🧬 After generating the most complete catalogue of genomic information for primates ever produced, this project compared the genomes of 809 individuals from 233 species of primates involving researchers from 24 countries.
