@josephineklee@BrownsvilleISD@BEST_AFT@TexasAppleseed@UHLAW This is an unbiased accounting that shows why our juvenile justice system is broken. It is important for children's voices to be heard. Counseling is an important service for a child who recently lost a parent. He should not have been locked up for seeking help.
@keribla Harris County youth have already faced this. There was a small outbreak back in March and now there is another one. Children have been in the detention center for too long. Suppose to be short term 10-15 days and they have been there for months.
“If a child is removed from their home and it’s not necessary, that trauma lasts for a lifetime.” -@MarrusEllen on CPS and the difficulty in making calls on whether or not to remove children from homes

What an honor to have colleagues from across the pond talking about juvenile justice. Very interesting presentations and great ideas to look at implementing here.
