Well done, Doctor! 👏🎓
Today, Marta Fidalgo successfully defended her PhD thesis: “Angiocrine signaling from bone endothelial niches drives breast cancer metastasis progression”
Proud to see the future of science being shaped at IJC. 🚀🔬
Our last paper is now online! Here we identify TCF19 as a contributing factor to Prostate Cancer agressiveness. Thanks to all the team and collaborators! @ArkaitzLab @CICbioGUNE @Ikerbasque @RogerGom1 @MarionaGraupera https://t.co/rLiuu8hecI

I've been looking forward to reading this paper and it's finally out!! Congratulations to @kishorsivaraj,who taught me so much during my stay in germany, and to the whole team 🥳🥳
Bone remodeling is traditionally driven by osteoblasts and osteoclasts, but our study reveals a third essential player: "Type R capillaries".
Excited to share my PhD work from @ralfhadams lab, now published in @NatureCellBio.

…and that's a wrap! As we come to the end of #EvometConference2024, we thank all our sponsors, speakers, presenters, attendees and organizers for an excellent and exciting event! Special shout out to our 15 ESRs of Evomet who have made this event a huge success! Good luck, ESRs!
Its day 3 of #EvometConference2024 and we continue our session 3 on combating metastasis with a keynote presentation and a masterclass from Dr. Joan Massagué from @MSKCancerCenter on "Metastasis initiating cells and immune ecosystems."
@NKI_nl@deVisserKarin Our very own Marta Fidalgo from Evomet at @CarrerasIJC@IRBBarcelona discusses "Endothelial cell-mediated signaling drives breast cancer metastasis and dormancy exit in bone." After this talk, we break for lunch for further networking and scientific discussions!
Let me introduce to you the amazing group of EVOMET students👩🔬🧑🔬
These talented, passionate and young scientists are the future leaders of the #metastasis field! Stay tuned for their updates!
Feeling privileged to be a part of such an amazing network.
An amazing week of professional and personal growth, full of trainings and science!
Thank you @evomet_itn 🥳
A week ago we finished this successful and eventful meeting! We want to thank all project members and collaborators for their excellent contributions, enthusiasm and efforts towards making Evomet great initiative! See you all next year!
Very excited to see our paper on *Lung adaptation to breathing and alternative splicing* finally out!
We found that VEGFA188 (and not VEGFA164) drives the specification of aerocytes, a subtype of alveolar endothelial cells specialized in gas exchanges.

In addition, we propose that VEGFA-188 but not VEGFA-164 from AT1 cells promote differentiation of aerocytes.
Once again, many thanks to @FondationLeducq, @ERC_Research, and FCT for fundamental funding, and to @IMMolecular for amazing support throughout the long process.
@ClaudioAFranco1@BiocomicsLab So happy about this!
Thank you @ClaudioAFranco1 for being the best PI, there are many more good news to come, I'm sure :)
Thank you Francisca for being the best post-doc/lab manager/supervisor I had the pleasure of working with. Can't wait to celebrate this in Lisbon with you!
