Massive thanks again to @stighandersson for presenting to @UQHealth #uqshrs - ‘#Preventing overuse #shoulder #injuries in #handball - the @OSTRC1 experience’ - amazing insights of an incredible research journey @Bill_Vicenzino

[Marguerite H. King PhD OLY @margueritehoust]

Massive thanks to @stighandersson for his insightful lecture on #throwing #injuries #rehab and #returntosport #handball #waterpolo @QldAcademySport Thanks @me_shephard for organising #SPIKE

[Stig H. Andersson @stighandersson]

Follow-up study on the OSTRC Shoulder Injury Prevention Programme
- Coaches and captains believed that the programme would reduce the injury risk
- The minority implemented the programme as recommended, with too time-consuming and lack of player motivation as main barriers

[Dr. Hege Grindem @HegeGrindem]

Can't say this enough - an isolated ACL (no meniscus/cartilage involved) is a GOOD version of the injury. Let's do what we can to keep an isolated injury isolated

@Bill_Vicenzino: load management advice for Gluteal Tendinopathy via @alisongrimaldi #SportsKongres. Bill also makes a great point on checking the patient has understood this message and that, in time, we return to normal activity. #SportsKongres

2) langt bedre alternativer kan findes her:

Clinical implications: Return to level I sport should be delayed until at least 9 months have passed from surgery and the patient has regained quadriceps strength comparable to the uninjured side. Full-text: https://t.co/1BfLxGA9fl #PhysioNetwork

Sad to see another world star go down with ACL injury, the second in recent weeks. This time it's Romania's Cristina Neagu. Congested match program to blame?

Strong story from Danish player Louise Svalastog on how a concussion influenced her life as a professional handball player. Her conclusion is that is should never be the player’s responsibility to decide when to return to the court or to return at all #SCHMS2018 #schms2018

[Marte Fagerheim @MarteFagerheim]

@Merete_Moller on sport load in young players. Important details planted in the slides😂 #schms2018 #SCHM2018

[Marte Fagerheim @MarteFagerheim]

Great talk from @HMoksnes on return to sport after ACL injury. Excellent tip to ask the player to make a detailed comeback list apx 6/12 post surgery! @SCHMS2018 #schms2018 #SCHM2018

Who is in charge of what in an elite handball team? Panel discussion with a coach, a player, a physical trainer, a physician and a physio. Who is making the final decisions? #SCHMS2018

Tim Gabbett kicks off the 2nd Scandinavian Congress in Handball Medicine and Science #SCHMS2018! “Load is the vehicle that drives athletes to OR FROM injury”

[Martin Asker @martinasker]

Key points: get the captain to conduct the prevention programme, staged increases, choices for the team 👍👍👍

[Rod Whiteley @RodWhiteley]

Prepare for throwing loads by building throwing resilience: don't rest from throwing; external rotation & scapular strengthening key points.
In the future look to monitoring the effect of the (key) activity on key physical (performance) markers
