Do you think television ads will start to become irrelevant for marketing agencies, and if so how quickly do you think this will occur with the rapid digital media development? #uwj201
@RileyHazelberg I think this is definitely going to far in trying to target ads to specific people. Situations like this will cause consumer distrust in companies and media platforms. #uwj201
@ChloeSheftel I would say that the most effective is repetition. The more we hear or see something, the more we will remember it no matter if we try to or not. #uwj201
In lecture today we learned that when we have several points to focus on, it is better to unconsciously process the information. What do you think the benefits of this method are? #uwj201
@LukeDavis199 In my experience, most often, I feel as though I am being persuaded much more than manipulated. However, I do wonder if I am being manipulated more than I realize. #uwj201
@YinzhuH I think these two are definitely related. The less time people are willing to spend watching an add the less effective they will become unless the clips are made shorter. #uwj201
This week we have talked about how many media platforms have tried to limit the amount of fake news. Do you think these efforts to eliminate fake news are a waste of time? #UWJ201
@ryan4604 I believe that it will continue, mostly due to the fact that we surround ourselves with people who share similar ideas to our own not only in real life but also on social media. This in turn causes very extremist ideas. #uwj201
@KalenKlitzke I think it is easier to relate your opinions to others rather than creating an entire set of your own ideas. If no one else shares these ideas with you, it will feel hard to make any difference. #uwj201
The SPJ Code of Ethics started that journalists must seek truth, minimize harm, act independently, and be accountable and transparent. Which one of these four aspects do you think is most often violated? #uwj201
@jesskatz9 Entertainment news may be a good way to be introduced to a topic but I believe that when trying to actually inform yourself on the news you should revert to traditional media. Essentially a healthy balance is good. #uwj201
What effectโif anyโdo you think the entertainment media is having on the publicโs perspective of the impeachment process? Do you think this is cause people to form uneducated opinions? #uwj201
@taraodonnellm I definitely think there will be an increase in entertainment media, because the entertainment aspect of it engages a larger audience that may ordinary not pay attention to traditional news.
@ChristianLese I think it depends. The entertainment media involves a younger audience but also could discourage those who prefer traditional news sources from watching. I think it is also something that should often be taken with a grain of salt, because the jokes are not all serious. #uwj201
@champagnejahni I think it is highly likely that the majority of the stories we see were written with some unconscious bias. By nature our unconscious thoughts are hard to recognize and even harder to ignore. #uwj201
@tiffanyyp23 I definitely think there are certain instances where framing is used in an unethical way to manipulate a situation. I wonder if we could come up with a way to regulate this public manipulation? #uwj201
