So if one can fly a small helicopter on Mars, does that mean there's a thick enough atmosphere to run wind turbines? Asking for a friend who is wind power, space exploration and farming obsessed.

Okay...so I'm pretty sure I've proved that it 1) can find a feasible path through the network if one exists and 2) that it may return suboptimal paths. Still, it might be useful as a heuristic.

Yesterday, I devised an algorithm to solve heavily constrained shortest path problems with maze-like features (ie. dead-ends). Today I think I'll try to adapt the proof of Dijkstra's algorithm to prove the correctness of my algorithm while I pump water to the cattle. #Mathematics

We think she was a tad too playful on pasture and twisted something. She has been playing with the new calf a bit and maybe their play got too demanding.

Not gonna lie... I'm a tad angry with my human right now. I'm confined to my stall for the day. I've been favouring my front right leg. Human poked and prodded at my hooves to make sure it wasn't a hoof issue but now I have to rest while he calls the vet.

Recently had a Zoom meeting with my #PhD supervisory committee. One of the committee members saw tools and such in the background and asked if I was in my workshop. I replied "Nope. I'm in my bedroom/office/metal shop/duckling and seedling nursery/#hunting armoury."

@Cybervampyr2109 They spent the night in a cat carrier on my chair. Eventually, they stopped chirping and the dogs settled down for the night as well.

If you're curious, my research is about siting military aeromedical evac assets (helicopters) and field hospitals in battlespace environments which include antiaircraft threats. To do so, I also must solve thousands of helicopter routing problems. Good fun.

Sometimes it's hard to balance #PhD research with #farming. Fortunately, my work involves processing complex optimization problems which takes my computer hours to solve. Today I'm setting up experiments, pressing run and then doing some welding on my tractor loader.

@TommyTenacious The basic requirements we have to meet are:

1) tag the animals for supply chain tracing
2) have the animals processed at a licensed facility
3) store our inventory pursuant to the requirements of our food premises license (frozen with temperature monitoring which isn't hard)

@TommyTenacious We could sell outside of the province but we'd have to have our animals processed at a federally licensed facility. This hasn't really seemed necessary since everyone we sell to thus far are from the local area. Our food safety regs are nothing compared to some countries though.
