Eight #Rohingya refugees, including a child, were killed in three separate landslides after heavy rain in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar.
Camp 15 (Zamtoli): 3 killed
Camp 7 (Kutupalong): 1 child killed
Camp 11 (Balukhali): 4 killed
These are Rohingya genocide survivors. They survived genocide in #Burma and now they are dying in refugee camps that should be safe.
My deepest condolences go to the families who have lost their loved ones. After everything they have suffered, no family should have to endure another preventable tragedy.
The international community promised to protect the Rohingya. That promise cannot end because the world has grown tired of this crisis. Governments must do more to protect Rohingya refugees and improve the conditions they are forced to live in.

A local man from Sap Pa Nu Village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State, died from severe injuries after being arrested and allegedly beaten by Junta troops, according to local residents.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Ko Shwe Gae, also known as Ko Kyaw Min Thu. Local sources said he was arrested on July 2 while returning home along a road near Sap Pa Nu Village, when Junta troops patrolling the area detained him.
On the morning of July 3, Junta soldiers reportedly brought him back to his home in critical condition. His body showed signs of severe physical abuse.
“We heard about the case because we know people from that village. He was just coming back to the village when they arrested him. It was not even a full day. The next morning, he was already in very bad condition. His whole body had been beaten. They brought him back home, and not long after he arrived, he died,” said a local resident familiar with the incident.
Local residents said Ko Shwe Gae was an ordinary civilian. It remains unclear why Junta troops arrested, interrogated, and allegedly tortured him.
A resident said visible bruises and serious beating injuries were found across his body.
HURFOM is still trying to contact Ko Shwe Gae’s family members to confirm further details about the arrest, injuries, and circumstances of his death.
Local residents said arbitrary arrests by Junta forces continue to occur frequently in Kyaikto Township, Mon State. While some detainees are later released, others remain missing after being taken into military custody, leaving families without information about their whereabouts, health, or legal status.
At least 1,083 children have been killed and 639 minors arbitrarily arrested in Myanmar since the 2021 military coup, according to the AAPP on Wednesday.

The junta regime of Myanmar, led by dictator Min Aung Hlaing, has officially confirmed that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will not be permitted to meet with foreign representatives, citing her current imprisonment.
This announcement was made during a media press conference where the regime's spokesperson, Dr. Khine Khine Soe, reiterated this decision to members of the press.
Kim Aris, the son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is demanding that the junta provide clear evidence of his mother’s well-being. He is appealing for urgent assistance from the international community, which has notably failed to address the ongoing crisis in Myanmar.
On June 25, at around 2:00 pm, Junta forces bombed Kawk Ma Pyin Village in Tanintharyi Township, Myeik District, using two gyrocopters, according to local residents.
The two gyrocopters reportedly dropped three bombs on the village football field. Although the attack caused serious damage to the ground, no civilian casualties were reported.
“There is a huge hole where the bomb landed. Fortunately, no one was injured. If they continue using bombs like this, normal bomb shelters will not be strong enough to protect people,” said one local resident.
Civilians are still living in Kawk Ma Pyin Village, and residents said they have not yet fled the area despite the attack. The village is currently under the control of resistance forces. Junta forces are based in Kyauk Lone Gyi Village, which is located within the Kawk Ma Pyin Village Tract.
Local residents said the bombing has increased fear among civilians, as the attack directly targeted an area inside the village where people normally gather and move around.
On June 21, Junta forces also bombed Phar Ni Village and Lay Mile Village using two fighter jets and three gyrocopters.
The continued use of aircraft and gyrocopters in civilian areas has left communities in Tanintharyi Township living under constant threat of aerial attacks, displacement, and further harm.
The Myanmar regime conducted a total of 440 aerial bombardments in 168 sorties targeting Mindat, southern Chin, over a period of more than two months, the Chin Human Rights Organization said. (Photo: Bomb damage, Mindat, June 12 / Hkl-Mindat) #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
