@markjprice Me bring funny (or trying to) never translates well into “x” 😉
I am really looking forward to reading “Apps and Services with .Net 8”!
Keep up the good work!
Amazon already has a replacement on they way 😉
@markjprice Hi! Thanks for your books. I just bought the latest editions.
Did some one have a bad day and take it out on the book while cutting? 😂
The entire book is very off center towards the top.
I use both professionally - for the past 6 months - this was my first time using a Mac for an extended amount of time.
I actually really like it - but I do feel like I am betraying my decades of using windows!
Looking to buy my first private laptop in more than a decade.
As a software developer, primarily C# …..MacBook Pro or which laptop?
Why is this so hard?!? 😂

@davidfowl I use a Dell laptop and a MBP daily - I have to admit that my issues with switching got way better after a few months. I don’t seem to notice it anymore.
I also went all geek and make a custom mechanical keyboard with layouts for both Windows and Mac.
@anaisbetts@firstdrafthell +1 for this one.
WSL 2 - and just use the cli - works like a charm and you can seamlessly access the running containers from Windows.
@davidfowl Heavily inspired by @shanselman pretty prompt blog posts.
I have created a repo, to create some consistency in setting up my environments.

The terminal looks basically the same on Zsh on Mac and on Windows Terminal.
@nickchapsas First off, this is a classic example of “my opinion is the right one”, it’s a dangerous thing. Code is full of opinions- and we might not agree on everything. But I watch your videoes for the perspective and of course to learn! Great content and I appreciate you making it!
I realize that systems like DocFx might have a slightly different use case, since it is also markdown documents.
But when it come to the C3/C4 discussion- how far are we from being able to autogenerate the UML diagrams based on the classes and the code that is running?
Keeping documentation and diagrams close to code, to me, sound like a great idea. But how to do it, and what to use? I work with #Csharp and #dotnet - I have used #c4 and structurizr, https://t.co/LbUIdpUPPA, DocFx and am now looking into Diagrams and PlantUML. What to do?
@jeremylikness IMO the issues we are facing are the lack of knowledge when it comes to authentication/authorization. So more accessible best practices and guides for identity solutions would be a good start.
@JetBrainsRider I have been wondering for some time: how many dotnet/c# developers are using Mac/Linux compared to windows? You have any stats on that you can share?
And don’t even get me started with creating a separate “architecture department/team” that goes around creating architectures around the development teams…..
“Senior or Lead Developer or Tech Lead - it could be called any if them”
I’ve head this multiple times the past few years. Are titles in software development that useless?
From my perspective some companies really need to invest in creating and defining a career path for devs.
I was implementing ApiVersioning in an #dotnet#aspnetcore api. Of course I had to look up some of the details and I found a pretty straight forward way to implement versioning!
Have a look and enjoy 😉
