@NKirchnerSthlm@Stockholm_Uni@uzh_geo I’m looking forward to watching the TRS workshop later this autumn to hear about everything that happened at the station this summer!
Have a safe trip back home ❄️

#TarfalaResearchStation (TRS) @Stockholm_Uni closes today after a successful summer season with many (inter)national guest, students, and external actors. Huge and beautiful contrasts between high- and lowlands. THANK YOU all who made 2022 a great year for TRS! To be continued 😀
Here’s a short report for @GeoTU1 on our fieldwork in the #Arctic this summer from the excellent #Tarfala research station. Thanks to @INTERACT66 and @RGS_IBG https://t.co/rtXZ1xjkbp
Heavy rainfall made Lillsjön ("the small lake") quite large. Views from 67 N #TarfalaResearchStation@Stockholm_Uni@fieldSITES today (left) and ca 2 weeks ago (upper right). We usually cross the river easily, but not today (bottom right, with Icefalls glacier in the background)
Hillshading ice sheet DEMs is tricky because the ice flows many directions. IMO the best direction to illuminate from is the direction of ice flow, i.e., the direction the ice sheet is most sensitive to. *Lots* to see this way in ArcticDEM and REMA. @polargeospatial
What a great #paleoglaciology excursion with @Stockholm_Uni & @civis_eu across Sweden 🇸🇪 & Norway 🇳🇴! And it was such a luck to have the opportunity to lead a day and lecture about glacial landforms in front of people from 🇫🇷🇸🇪🇬🇷🇷🇴🇪🇸🇩🇪🇳🇱🇪🇬 #funwithflags
Last report handled for the @Stockholm_Uni Quaternary Sedimentology course after an excursion to Småland and the Vimmerby moraine. One more Paleoglaciology course to go before finally starting a MSc thesis in #glaciology 🔥❄️
