I was thinking of a role that Tim Curry completely slayed that people weren't talking about enough. Then I remembered Doviculus from Brutal Legend, one of my favorite games from High School. The perfect combination of sadistic and REALLY sexual. R.I.P. King.
The internet is not talking about "Reckless Ben" and the situation regarding Bricks and Minifigs at all.
So let me help bring some attention to this thing.
Ben Schneider is a comedic YouTube journalist in the same vain as Nathan For You/Nathan Felder.
His work into the abuse of Russ McKamey and McKamey Manor resulted in a Hulu Documentary, and prompted the Tennessee attorney general to open an investigation.
His first major video he infiltrated Scientology wearing spyglasses.
Now he is investigating the theft of a families' heirloom Star Wars LEGO collection, and he's looking at FIVE YEARS in prison for doing so.
The story involves Bricks and Minifigs placing the families prized LEGO collection on consignment and then just stealing the $200,000 worth of inventory, never giving the family the inventory or the money for the product. It's an incredible act of theft, brazenly admitted to on camera. But because it is technically a civil matter, and Bricks and Minifigs are a 400M dollar company their response was simply "Take us to Court."
Doing so would cost more money than the family has.
So Reckless Ben comes in, spends three months exposing all the corruption from the franchise down to the corporate offices.
Did I mention that Bricks and Minifig is a very valuable Mormon owned company in Utah and run by BYU graduates? That's important information. Ben explains the collusion with the LDS church in his video.
The latest video, which has not been made public yet results in Ben being harassed by the Mormon police department in American Fork, illegally redacting bodycam audio, swatted at gun point and his entire team being taken to jail for "starting a GoFundMe."
Ben spent days in jail.
I am not making this up. The police tell him that is the reason. Then the police raid his home in Los Angeles and issue a warrant for his arrest.
He is facing FIVE YEARS in prison. For simply doing journalism, and trying to bring attention to this family who had their sick grandfathers Lego collection stolen from them.
The second video has not been released from his Patreon yet, but I suspect it will soon.
It is one of the most unbelievable stories I have ever seen, and better than any crime documentary you will watch on Netflix this year.
If you are not aware of what is going on let me ask you to spread the word. The entire internet needs to come to the support of Reckless Ben and Bricks and Minifigs should be completely shut down forever and investigated by the DOJ.
I watched Birdbox for the first time last night
I know it got mixed reviews years ago, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie
It did a good job at surprising me at the end of the movie and it was very well made
Cast was all very strong
Would recommend
Turning Red was pretty good
People have been saying Twitter has been overly negative to the movie, but idk, @Bolverk15 shared an opinion and the site exploded
Enjoy the movie, don't enjoy the movie; find some individualism within yourself
For me, thought it was okay.
Forgot to post about it, but THE BATMAN (2022) is the best Batman film we have ever had
I love the look / atmosphere of the film and the approach to criticize Batman's flaws was brilliant
Definitely give it a watch; if you're afraid of 3 hr movies, this one earns every minute.
I watched Hot Summer Nights
I wanted to because it looked like an Adventureland sort of teen adventure movie
It's a very strange movie that covers teen romance in a shakespearean sense and can seem a bit bogged
If you're interested, it's a well made movie but not a great one
Marvel's Eternals is an interesting movie
The first half is really poorly put together and the character relationships aren't really believable
HOWEVER,
It IS the first Marvel movie I had ANY interest in and offered the most interesting premise in this franchise
Recommended.
Vertigo was a fuck fest of emotion
Its peak Hitchcock where he loves to just screw with the audience
Very inventive in the mystery thriller department and especially in special effects and graphics integrated to live action
Recommended watch.
I has some apprehension over seeing Encanto
It's very short, hour and a half, which is common place for kids animation
I also love the messaging of the film; it's really just a family drama
Loved that there wasn't really a villain
Mirabel is now my favorite Disney Princess
SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME was good and a step in the right direction
For the MCU's Spidey to hook me, we'll have to see where they go next
This is the middle chapter that transitions us from two highly mediocre movies, to hopefully better prospects
Keep your fingers crossed.
I watched ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST from 1968 directed by Sergio Leone with my dad.
It was very long and very intertwining but the series of events came meeting very satisfyingly at the end.
Also an amazing score as well.
Highly recommended if you have 3 hours to spare.
Just got done watching 'INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS'
It doesn't have much of a major conclusion and it felt as if it should've ended 15 minutes sooner BUT the movie does have a lot to say about the 'tortured artist' archetype; how the vanity can lead nowhere, etc.
Highly recommended
Red Notice, a Netflix original, was a waste of time
It had sprinklings of excellence hidden in there, but alas not enough
The best part of the movie is showing how much I want treasure hunt adventure movies back like Indiana Jones or The Mummy
Do not waste your time like I did
Last night for Halloween festivities, me and a few friends watched three movies
Scary Movie 1
Hubie Halloween
Scary Movie 2
The only good parts were laughing drunkenly / stoned at terrible comedies that were extremely ableist
All three were terrible 2/10 across the board.
This morning I viewed 'The Last Duel' by Ridley Scott starring Ben Affleck, Adam Driver, Matt Damon, and Jodie Comer
With such a cast, you'd expect both quality and profit
Unfortunately, it seems profits are not going to be coming in even though this was a very quality film
I just got done watching Dune.
I will be revisiting the movie later this weekend at home, but for now I'll say I loved the movie.
I knew nothing going in and I'd recommend that stance for anyone else considering
