Audible have bought the first four Thraxas books to make audio books. The first one is available now. I’m very pleased about this. These are the first audio versions of any of my books. It’s not me reading them, which is good as I’d have been terrible at it. I like the reader they’ve chosen. I like their imagining of Thraxas and Makri too. This book, Thraxas, won the World Fantasy Award. The second one will be published in September.
My publisher made an extremely bad job of publishing and promoting my book Supercute Futures. Honestly, if you’ve never been involved with publishers you’d be surprised how uninterested they sometimes can be in actually selling books. I’d be tempted to condemn all publishers except I do have quite a big publication deal coming up so I can’t really do that. But I’m still annoyed. I finally demanded the rights back so here is my new edition of Supercute Futures, and also German editions of both Supercute books, Supercutes Zukunft and Supercute Zweite Zukunft.

Following a successful lunar flyby, the Artemis II astronauts captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way, on April 7, 2026.
@GrantMcPheeFilm I really like that first Big in Japan record. I remember they did a good John Peel session too. Did Blood and Lipstick exist as a single and also LP? I have the Pink Military album, and also the later Pink Industry releases which sounded low tech and really great.
The first three Elric books in paperback by Michael Moorcock, a really good present from my brother. I must have first read them when I was still at school. Elric was a great character. I've consciously borrowed two things from him. Makri’s grim black sword in Thraxas, and also werewolf Dominil Macrinnalch’s white hair. She is leucistic rather than albino, but I'd been waiting a long time to write about a white-haired character because of Elric.
“Horror Head” was Doppelgänger’s second and final single, peaking at number 31 on the UK singles chart. Available on CD, cassette, and 12” vinyl (with a limited edition boxset), the release featured b-sides Mission From God, Falling Free, and Today Is Not The Day.
Horror Head remains one of Curve’s most beloved and recognisable songs.

@GrantMcPheeFilm Liam Gallagher's vocals do sound very like John Lennon on 'Rain.' I'm not a huge Oasis fan but I admire them because they worked their way into the psyche of the country in a way that not many bands really do. They mean something to a lot of people.
Keeping me company at my writing desk today: The Madonna of the Rock by Fra Filippo Lippi. Troubled Cities, my book of short stories. Shonen Knife’s tribute to the Ramones. Bubblegum Crisis anime. Bubblegum Crisis is a great name, I wish I’d thought of it.
This map of London’s literary characters features two of mine — Lonely Werewolf Girl and Lux the Poet. They're close to the large 'Hercule Poirot’ near the foot of the map, in the centre. Werewolf is beside it and Lux below. It’s a nice map. I found it at https://t.co/u2xmevhEXA I can’t say much about the illustrator as he doesn’t give much information about himself. "Dex is Londoner. Dex also works under the pseudonym of ‘Christopher Trotman." I’m pleased two of my characters were included in his map
Cover of the first Dutch edition of Thraxas, published by Het Spectrum some years ago. I haven’t been able to complete a new Thraxas book, though I did promise myself I’d do it this year. It hasn’t worked out at all. It’s quite depressing really.
