A Detroit woman deposited $50 into BetMGM and turned it into $3.3 MILLION over six days. The casino paid her $100,000, congratulated her, then suspended her account and kept the rest. She spent four years fighting through every court in Michigan just to get her day in court. She still does not have the money.
– Jacqueline Davis deposited $50 into her BetMGM account on March 18 2021 and started playing a game called Luck O' the Roulette.
– Her first bet was $4.50. She lost it.
– She kept playing and over the next six days the Michigan Supreme Court later described what happened as "a heater of epic magnitude."
– As her winnings grew she pressed her bets higher.
– By March 23 she was wagering $5,000 per spin.
– Her account balance reached $3,289,500.75.
– She requested a $100,000 withdrawal.
– BetMGM approved it by email. A VIP host called to discuss transferring such a large amount off the platform. They congratulated her on her winnings.
– The next day her account was suspended for unusual activity.
– BetMGM's investigation found a software malfunction had started on her 28th play.
– Win amounts were being multiplied when transferred from the game screen to her wallet.
– They said her account should have read zero by play 368. They removed the game from Michigan entirely.
– Davis sued for fraud and breach of contract.
– The Wayne Circuit Court dismissed her case.
– The Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal. Both courts said Michigan gaming law gave the regulator exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes.
– The Michigan Gaming Control Board investigated.
– They found BetMGM had violated rules by failing to report the malfunction promptly and not cooperating fully with the investigation. Took no disciplinary action anyway.
– Davis appealed all the way to the Michigan Supreme Court.
– On July 22 2025 all seven justices ruled unanimously she has the right to take BetMGM to trial. The case was sent back to Wayne Circuit Court.
– That trial has not happened yet. It is now 2026 and she is still waiting.
– BetMGM has not commented.
A woman turned $50 into $3.3 MILLION, was congratulated by the casino's VIP team, had her account frozen the next day, lost in two courts, won at the Supreme Court, and is still waiting for a trial five years later.
Kylian Mbappé on Lionel Messi’s incredible 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
🗣️ “People keep asking me if I’m surprised by what Lionel Messi is doing at 39 years old. My answer is simple I’ve stopped being surprised by Messi a long time ago.”
“What he’s doing in this World Cup is beyond incredible. Most players at his age are retired or playing without pressure. Messi is carrying Argentina, deciding the biggest matches and taking his country to another World Cup final. That’s not normal. That’s greatness.”
“I watched the semi-final against England, and honestly, it reminded everyone why he’ll always be different. Argentina were losing, the pressure was enormous, but Messi never looked worried. He simply took control of the game and produced two world-class assists when his country needed him the most.”
“The frightening thing about Messi isn’t just his talent it’s his mentality. The bigger the match, the calmer he becomes. While everyone else feels pressure, he makes football look effortless.”
“I was lucky enough to play with him, so I know exactly what he brings to a team. His leadership isn’t about shouting. It’s about making everyone around him believe that anything is possible. That’s a gift very few players have.”
“For me, he’s still the best player in the world. I don’t care about his age or what people say. If you’re still deciding World Cup semi-finals at 39, creating magic against the best teams on earth, then you’re still number one.”
“Football will produce many stars in the future, but I truly believe we’ll never see another Lionel Messi. What he’s doing today isn’t just inspiring it’s history unfolding right in front of our eyes.”
That’s how football is played.

PURPORTEDLY APPOINTING A PERSON CONVICTED OF STEALING AND MONEY LAUNDERING OR CORRUPT PRACTICES AS PATRON OF ANY BRANCH OF NBA, MAKES A MOCKERY OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION AND THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION
The Nigerian Bar Association views with disdain the purported appointment of Abdulrasheed Maina, who was convicted for stealing over N2 billion in pension funds, as ‘Grand Patron of NBA Garki Branch’ by the Chairman of NBA Garki Branch, Anthony Bamidele Ojo. The purported appointment not only paints the legal profession and the NBA in a bad light but also makes a mockery of the Government’s fight against corruption, as well as the Association’s motto of promoting the rule of law. Equally reprehensible was the decision of the Chairman to make comments about Abdulrasheed Maina’s appeal, currently believed to be pending at the Supreme Court. While the NBA respects Mr. Maina’s right to exhaust his right to appeal against the conviction, the Bar will NOT under any guise comment on such an appeal or be seen to try to sway public opinion in his favour.
These actions portray the Chairman of NBA Garki and, indeed, any person who endorsed his putrid actions as condoning corrupt practices. The Bar fails in her duties to the society and the cause of justice when it condones, encourages, and or fails to take definite actions to eliminate corruption and corrupt practices. The Association will not, under any guise, lend its platform, name, or institutional credibility to influence public opinion or judicial proceedings in respect of cases that are sub judice or take steps that may be perceived as laundering the image of any person convicted of criminal offences. Any attempt to do so constitutes a grave violation of professional ethics and a direct affront to the rule of law.
In view of the foregoing, the Chairman of the NBA Garki Branch, Mr. Bamidele Ojo, is hereby directed to immediately withdraw any purported appointment of Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina as a Patron of the Branch and to forthwith cease and desist from issuing statements, comments, or representations on behalf of, or in support of, Mr. Maina or any other litigant in respect of cases pending in court.
The NBA views this conduct as a serious breach of professional responsibility and institutional discipline. Accordingly, disciplinary proceedings will be commenced against the Chairman of the NBA Garki Branch for actions inconsistent with the Constitution of the NBA, the Rules of Professional Conduct, and the core values of the legal profession. Integrity, accountability, respect for the judicial process, and the preservation of public confidence in the legal profession are foundational values of the Nigerian Bar Association. Any conduct that undermines these principles will attract firm and decisive institutional response.
The NBA therefore disclaims the purported appointment of Abdulrasheed Maina as ‘Grand Patron of NBA Garki Branch’ by the Chairman of the Branch, Anthony Bamidele Ojo. The NBA strongly condemns his actions and reiterates that the Bar must use its power to stop corruption.

"....at a place outside Nigeria i.e London within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court."??!
#Nigeria will seek to colonize London in the United Kingdom when proceedings open in the charges just preferred before the @fcthighcourt against senior lawyer, @OzekhomeMike!!
Dearest gallant Super Eagles, it was a battle well fought and heads were not bowed.
Thank you for a beautiful 120 minutes of incredible play. You showed your strength and prowess against all odds.
The journey is not over. You have made the nation proud. Keep your heads high, the Eagle never stops soaring.
There is another stage, let’s go get that medal.
You have done well.-PO
#PersonOfTheYear#POTY2025#DemocraticPolitics is not a search for #Nirvana. Its best exponents are leaders able to offer the people credible hope rooted in honest toil.
#AbiaState in south-east #Nigeria offers a salutary tale here.
The first of #Nigeria's 36 States by alphabetical order, Abia State was a horror governance story for a quarter of a century. The State Governor for 8 yrs from 1999, @OUKtweets was convicted of looting the state dry & sentenced to a long time in prison.
An implausible appellate judgment set him loose on a manufactured technicality with an order for his retrial which the judges knew wld never occur. He is now a senior member of Nigeria's Senate, making laws which he is too crooked to obey.
As he readied to leave power in 2007, #OUK installed as his successor, his then Chief of Staff, Theodore Orji - detained in jail on trial for roguery - & arranged for the man to take his gubernatorial oath from jail so that he cld then enjoy constitutional immunity as governor.
From jail, Theodore marched on the State capital in Umuahia where he promptly unleashed 8 years of pure, unmitigated plunder.
To protect his loot, Theodore arranged to be succeeded at the end of his tenure by the forgettable @IkpeazuOkezie.
In #IgboLanguage, "Ikpeazu" means #DeadLast. That is exactly where the man arranged to get the state - dead last in every index of performance & governance.
So abysmal was he that by the end of his tenure, Ikpeazu had become a #PersonalAssistant to then governor of neighbouring Rivers State, the execrable @GovWike.
With the help of Wike, Ikpeazu has now wangled his way into the entirely deserved irrelevance of ambassadorial exile.
Between them, over nearly half a century, #OUK, Theodore Orji & Okezie Ikpeazu turned Abia State into a disaster zone & a jungle. Everything was denuded of value, including #HumanLife & the people of the state lost hope in the possibility of a better tomorrow.
By the skin of their teeth, in 2023, the people of Abia State elected banker-turned-politician, @alexottiofr, as governor. For this son of a pastor, his predecessors had set a low bar alright but, having grown used to bandit politicians, the ppl of the state had lost the #RightToHope.
It is fair to say that in 30 months as Governor, Alex Otti has engineered a #turnaround in the fate of Abia State. Many will point to the tangible proof of this - #UrbanRegeneration in the State capital, Umuahia; total reboot of the industrial hub of Aba; clearing arrears of salary & pension debts; major infrastructure works such as the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba Road, Port Harcourt Road in Aba; the Aguiyi-Ironsi Boulevard; or #captivepower in Aba.
Important as these are, Alex Otti's biggest achievement is an intangible - restoring the hope of the people in the idea of government as propositional & politics as virtuous. For doing this in Nigeria where politics is largely narcissistic & nihilistic, Alex Otti is my #PersonOfTheYear, #POTY2025.
