@CrimeGirI @BlueEdition999 @ASPD9 I do not agree with this at all I should add, I think the way we're treating these people is abhorrent. Just wondering if it's this legislation that is the reason we are hearing the press referring to "illegal channel crossings" so much now in reporting
@CrimeGirI @BlueEdition999 @ASPD9 Doesn't the new Nationality & Borders Act 2022 make it illegal to enter without a visa? Albeit impracticable to enforce.

Have read an interpretation on https://t.co/eaEkGx9P6o where they feel it does work against those entering UK without a visa.

I’m voting in the Honiton and Tiverton by-election today. And I’m afraid I’m going to break a pledge I made a year ago, when I joined the Green Party. I said I was fed up of voting tactically and made a commitment to vote Green at every opportunity. ⬇️
@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK You briefly mentioned the argument of France being a safe country, with the implication that refugees should not need to apply for asylum here once reaching France. Could you revisit why some hold this view, as well as your own view?
On the last ep, Rory asked Alistair what he thought about this argument - but not sure we heard a full answer. Could you revisit? Would like to hear both your views on this position.
@RestIsPolitics Love the podcast. Personally I don't agree with government plan to send people to Rwanda. Often hear government argument that people should not seek asylum once reaching France because it's a safe country. I don't understand this argument.
Why Russia will lose this war?
Much of the "realist" discourse is about accepting Putin's victory, cuz it's *guaranteed*. But how do we know it is?
I'll argue that analysts 1) overrate Russian army 2) underrate Ukrainian one 3) misunderstand Russian strategy & political goals🧵
