Some advocacy groups want to keep homelessness and encampments in place. The argument is that they see these encampments as visible evidence of capitalism’s failures, so maintaining them serves their broader political goals.

Some of these groups support encampments by sending money, ordering pizzas, and providing infrastructure such as portable toilets.
