4 big takeaways from my NYC + Sellers United trip last week:

1. Go in with a plan.

I learned how important it is to show up prepared. Have specific people you want to talk to, questions you want to ask, and sessions you want to hit. The best conversations don’t happen by chance, they happen when you’re intentional.

At first, it can feel awkward walking up to random people. You never know if the person next to you sells $10k/mo or $10M/mo. But once you get past that, you realize everyone there is genuinely friendly and open to connecting.

Follow up with folks you met. A quick message after the event can turn a short chat into a long-term relationship. Over time, those relationships can turn into collaborations, (free) mentorship, or just valuable connections when you need perspective.

2. Everyone runs their business differently.
There’s no single formula for winning on Amazon. Some people care most about profit margins, others about lifestyle freedom, and others about scale and domination. All of them are valid goals.

The key is realizing that not every piece of advice applies to you. You have to filter what you hear through the lens of your own goals. Once you know what success means to you, you can surround yourself with people who align with that. Your circle should reflect where you’re headed, not where everyone else is going.

3. Have confidence in yourself and your business.

At first, I felt like I didn’t belong in those rooms. Everyone seemed older, more experienced, or just further along. But after a few conversations, that disappeared. I realized that what I’ve built is real and that I belong here just as much as anyone else.

Confidence doesn’t come from rev numbers, it comes from competence and self-awareness. Once you start seeing your work through that lens, you stop comparing and start owning it.

4. This opened my eyes to what’s truly possible with amz.

Hearing Pattern’s COO speak and meeting sellers doing nine figs changed how I view the ceiling of this business. Amazon isn’t just a side hustle or an income stream. It’s a massive ecosystem that can be as big and complex as you want it to be.

There are levels to this game, and seeing them in person reminded me that the only real limit is how far you’re willing to go.
