As an industry, the sins of our past continue to cloud the horizon of our future

𝘈𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰:
- Every new big announcement
- Every new @elenism thread that would drop to know the latest and greatest in the space
- 3AM discord calls and messages about the latest flip or mint opportunity
- Spending thousands to get into alpha trading groups or for upcoming WLs

It’s just not the same anymore

Less people are interested

Less people are taking public risks

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠

The highly inflated expectations of an infantile hyper-manic industry stage is what led us here

Hordes of people “invested” into projects with a loose-belief that this would entitle them to the future-equity and/or present equity positions of the projects themselves

These ideas were and are largely unfounded and driven by sensationalist content pieces predatorily targeting human reason and socio-emotional intelligence

An example includes the Crocs collab just announced a few hours ago

It’s interesting to see the market reaction and how much different it is from the past

This same scenario would have caused ATH floor prices and market volume

Discord alpha groups would be selling the news and buying the FUD

What happened? What changed?

In 2022 I attended the Doodles SXSW event in Austin, TX

The energy was immaculate

I felt like I was at the Disney World theme park

Hundreds and hundreds of people were waiting in lines to participate in micro-activations that exited through a gift shop

People that didn’t own any digital assets nor understand the concept behind them were gladly spending hundreds of dollars on high-quality merchandise that was packaged and delivered on site

The people that did recognize the IP, that really understood the significance of the project on the space at the time, saw the magic in what was happening at that moment

Somewhere along the way we lost the interest and care from the general public

Everyone involved or working in this space is looked at as a potential bad actor

Every founder or creator seeking to raise funds for their project or creation is a con artist and a thief
