Congratulations Librarian Marvin Gonzalez on your Vanguard Signature Project - The Library Dads Initiative! This program seeks to develop strategies to highlight the importance of a father's involvement with opportunities for participation. Targeted activities include:
-"Dads and Kids" reading clubs or workshops at the library.
-Take Your Dad to School days or events.
-Workshops for fathers on supporting their children's learning.
-Mentoring programs where fathers can mentor students.
-Opportunities for fathers to volunteer in classrooms or the library.
-Family literacy nights or events.
-Father-child STEM activities.

The Luminarias Committee meets every month to read and evaluate books, aiming to create a helpful list for students, librarians, and teachers. At the last meeting, we focused on developing book-related activities for students that complement the books on our new list. @DISDLibrarian @CharissaGovan
