It also would help to brush up on chain rule and linear algebra (dot products, vectors, matrices). That should give you the foundational math you need going in, but don’t sweat it

If you are getting into neural networks and backprop, Zero to Hero by Andrej Karpathy is a solid start. I’ve been following it myself recently. Get basic derivatives (calculus) and Python OOP down first, makes it smoother

@neuralpat Which is really all just fancy words for saying “figuring out how much does changing this particular weight affect the final output of our loss function”. Update and iterate. Cool stuff currently working on a small math expression solver model.

@neuralpat Really cool stuff when it all started connecting, been learning the same thing. From what I’ve learned so far we apply chain rule to the partial derivatives of our weights in backprop in order to update those weights.
