here’s a job hunting hack you need to know!!!!!! (this may probably be the reason bagging a job remains hard for you)......
you can be consistently doing rubbish without even knowing it.
“i send 20 pitches daily”
and everyday what you get back are cricket sounds….. (sounds familiar?)
then don’t stop reading…….
even securing one interview (make e even be like say you dey put in the work) isn’t possible.
you see, the problem isn’t always your work rate.
sometimes, na your strategy.
cos let’s be real, you can’t be doing 2+2 repeatedly and be expecting 6 when we both know it’ll always give you 4…..
you’re sending 20 pitches daily but they’re all the exact same template.
(especially after using it repeatedly with zero results)
like guy!!!
try something different and see if anything changes…..
here are some of the criterias i look at when job hunting:
ensure the prospect can afford your services.
when hunting, look for projects that have secured a certain level of funding or founders who have shown they’re willing to actually push the project.
they should have a clear problem you can fix.
for fvck sake, why are you pitching for a mod role in a gc with 5 mods when you can clearly see they’re active?
wetin you dey think tho? 😭
test and retest different strategies.
this one is important.
with some founders, i build relationships from the TL or group gc.
with others, i just send the pitch directly.
on some, i start with a question.
on others, i lead with value.
the whole idea is to test as many approaches as possible till you find one that stick…….
i look at these criterias as important steps to increase my odds of bagging the job.
because just sending generic pitches makes me sound like a bot and honestly doesn’t help my chances either……
so what are the criterias you look out for when hunting?
