La Federación Egipcia de Fútbol condena enérgicamente el lamentable incidente racista ocurrido en el estadio del Espanyol en la ciudad de Barcelona, durante el partido amistoso de nuestra selección nacional frente a España.

Algunos aficionados presentes en las gradas corearon expresiones y consignas racistas. Rechazamos y condenamos totalmente estos comportamientos, así como la falta de respeto hacia el himno nacional. Este tipo de acciones son completamente inaceptables en los estadios de fútbol y constituyen un fenómeno negativo que debe ser erradicado mediante un esfuerzo conjunto.

La Federación Egipcia de Fútbol valora altamente los comunicados de rechazo y condena emitidos por la Federación Española de Fútbol, el Ministerio de Deporte de España, así como por responsables y figuras del fútbol español, quienes expresaron su rechazo a los incidentes racistas ocurridos durante el encuentro.

La selección nacional egipcia mostró un rendimiento sólido y competitivo en el terreno de juego, siendo un digno rival frente al equipo anfitrión en el marco de su preparación para la fase final de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA.

Asimismo, la Federación Egipcia confirma que Hany Abo Rida, presidente de la Federación, en su calidad internacional, trabaja junto con responsables de la FIFA y todos los socios e instituciones internacionales para prevenir este tipo de comportamientos ofensivos en los estadios de fútbol a nivel mundial. Lo ocurrido es totalmente inaceptable, y la FIFA continúa su lucha contra el racismo y la discriminación en el fútbol. Reiteramos nuestro firme rechazo a la repetición de estos hechos y nuestro compromiso de trabajar para erradicar definitivamente este fenómeno.

La Federación Egipcia desea subrayar que lo sucedido por parte de un grupo reducido de aficionados en las gradas del estadio del Espanyol no afectará en absoluto las sólidas relaciones entre las federaciones egipcia y española de fútbol, especialmente tras la cálida acogida de la delegación egipcia en Barcelona y el apoyo y las facilidades brindadas.

Statement 🔴📝

The Egyptian Football Association strongly condemns the reprehensible racist incident that occurred at the Espanyol Stadium in Barcelona during our national team’s friendly match against Spain.

A number of spectators in the stands were observed chanting racist expressions and slogans. We firmly reject and condemn such behavior, including the lack of respect shown toward the national anthem. These actions are entirely unacceptable in football stadiums and represent a negative phenomenon that must be collectively addressed and eradicated.

The Egyptian Football Association highly appreciates the statements of rejection and condemnation issued by the Spanish Football Federation, the Spanish Ministry of Sport, as well as officials and football figures across Spain, all of whom denounced the racist incidents witnessed during the match.

The Egyptian national team delivered a strong and competitive performance on the pitch, standing as a worthy opponent to the hosts as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup finals.

The Egyptian FA also confirms that Engineer Hany Abo Rida, President of the Association, in his international capacity, is working alongside FIFA officials and all relevant stakeholders and international institutions to prevent such offensive incidents from occurring in football stadiums worldwide. What happened is completely unacceptable, and FIFA remains committed to combating racism and discrimination in football. We stress the importance of preventing any recurrence of such incidents and working diligently to eliminate this phenomenon altogether.

The Egyptian FA would also like to emphasize that the actions of a minority of fans at Espanyol Stadium will not affect the strong and longstanding relationship between the Egyptian and Spanish Football Associations. This comes in light of the warm reception of the Egyptian delegation in Barcelona and the full support and facilitation provided.

Egypt remains committed to welcoming representatives of Spanish football, as well as all friendly nations, to a land of civilization, hospitality, and peace.
