i find it amazing that every academic i’ve talked to has no idea why undergraduates procrastinate the way they do, even though technically we’ve all been undergraduates at one point, but just decided to collectively forget what we were like back then for some reason.
and it’s also an open secret the Japanese tend to expect Japanese-looking foreigners to abide by local norms more strictly than non-Japanese-looking foreigners, and the tolerance for the latter is rooted in the quiet nationalistic assumption the latter simply “won’t get it”.
the best way out of the “You look East Asian so obviously you are one of us” bias in East Asian countries is to speak to everyone in English.
also the “Oh, sorry, you looked Japanese/spoke good Japanese so I thought you were Japanese” thing the Japanese do is not not xenophobic.
@Workshops4Gaza and Anderson seems to have started with nations in general and built the theory backwards to account for reality, while Lenin (to my understanding) started with the reality of inequalities in and between nations, but I suppose what I’m trying to suggest is only that

@mit0919Sahne if I remember correctly, Bergson’s philosophy was partly based on the insight from psychology that babies didn’t see the world through a subject-object divide at first, but developed that worldview later. Freud probably used it to build his theory of psychoanalysis too.
