Nine-year-old Paudie Murray from Moveen, near the Kilkee Cliffs in west Clare, is running one of the loveliest little businesses in Ireland right now.
What started with two hens (he asked for a goldfish) has grown into a flock of nearly 100 birds. Every afternoon at 2pm he restocks his honesty box with farm-fresh eggs… and it sells out, sometimes in as little as 15 minutes. Queues form. People drive from Galway. Tourists from Texas and Pennsylvania have made the pilgrimage. His Instagram (@ubhbypaudie) has more than 15,000 followers.
Paudie still checks the hens before breakfast, tops up feed and straw, helps with the calves on the family dairy farm, and reinvests every euro into more hens, feed and bedding. He’s not bothered by the attention. He’s just happy people like his eggs.
Pure Irish rural charm. Pure initiative. Pure wholesome.
Ubh by Paudie — proving you’re never too young to start something brilliant. 🥚🇮🇪
Goodbye, Glen.
Thank you for indulging this awkward wannabe music journalist when I was a teen, all those times in The Lobby in Cork. Thanks for never talking down to me.
Thank you for probably the best Irish contemporary music ever committed to record. Thanks for it all. 🖤💚
Two pensioners gardens tackled tonight, cutting back weeds and overhanging shrubs to bring their outdoor spaces back to life. It’s a brilliant life lesson for these lads it really is…the residents were over the moon.
Great article.
It's incredible that the government do not know how much of your tax money they are spending and on what.
If you can't measure, you cannot manage.
BREAKING: County Mayo coroner refuses to investigate harrowing death of elderly man in hospital
Seán Burke and Dr Isaac Burke recently reported on the inhumane death of our elderly neighbour after he was admitted to Mayo University Hospital with a urinary tract infection.
This man was a single farmer who lived alone with no immediate family. We looked after him for years providing hot meals and maintenance around his house.
While in hospital our neighbour was prescribed powerful anti-psychotic drugs and sedatives including Haloperidol and Midazolam. These drugs leave patients unable to eat, drink, communicate or even see the food left at their bedsides. Our neighbour suffered severe dehydration and malnutrition. In the weeks leading up to his death he would lie in a stupor, strapped to his bed with rails up on either side, catheter installed, and cold food left on a tray untouched at the end of his bed.
We visited him continually and raised concerns with doctors, nurses and healthcare staff. We were met with silence with one nurse saying about his treatment, “It’s all been agreed.”
We reported the death of our neighbour to An Garda Síochána in Castlebar. Garda Maura Hopkins confirmed at the end of February that a formal investigation had commenced with a PULSE number assigned. Three weeks later Garda Superintendent Deirdre Gill wrote to us denying an investigation had ever been stood up and saying an investigation would never be opened. Her reason was that the person listed as “next of kin” raised “no issues or concerns with the treatment of [the deceased] at MUH.” The fact that we had provided care to our neighbour for years, visited him daily in the hospital, were eyewitnesses to the abuse he suffered and were willing to make statements meant nothing to An Garda Siochana.
We then requested the Mayo County Coroner Dr Eleanor Fitzgerald to hold a public inquiry, an inquest into this man’s death. She has refused to do so.
Not only in Mayo University Hospital but up and down this country elderly people are lying in hospital beds, drugged on anti-psychotics and sedatives, with food left at the end of their beds where they cannot touch it. Food is being wheeled away and dumped. These people are dying before our eyes.
We cannot say we did not know. It is our duty to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
If you have a family member, friend or neighbour in hospital we would encourage you to visit them as often as possible and raise concerns with staff, with management, and with your local politicians if you see abuse. Don’t be intimidated, don’t be afraid to speak out. Every life is precious.
Andy Burnham's wife was treated like a piece of meat on a fashion critique chopping board. Putting any woman's body - particularly one with a double mastectomy - under the microscope is vile. Women are still judged on how they look & men on what they do 🧵

BREAKING: Enoch Burke speaks after release from prison today
Teacher Enoch Burke was released from prison this morning.
Judge Brian Cregan said he was releasing Enoch Burke from prison because the Disciplinary Appeal Panel (DAP) process, set up to hear Enoch Burke’s appeal of his purported dismissal, is over.
Judge Cregan is fully aware of the gross injustice of the DAP process in Enoch Burke’s case. Enoch Burke was deceived into sitting in front of Claire Callanan as Chair of the Disciplinary Appeal Panel. Claire Callanan is married to Lyndon McCann SC, the chief legal adviser to the Church of Ireland, and holds high office herself in the Church of Ireland. Wilson’s Hospital School is a Church of Ireland school. In no way was Claire Callanan an ‘independent’ Chair.
It is shocking that Judge Cregan knows this, and yet accepts the findings of this biased panel.
Judge Cregan also said he was releasing Enoch Burke as it is now the school holidays and therefore Enoch is not a danger to the children at the school. Enoch Burke received nothing but kindness and goodwill from the children of Wilson’s Hospital School. We believe Judge Cregan is fully aware of this but nonetheless refuses to acknowledge it.
We have seen the recent scenes of depravity at the Dublin Pride Parade with men dressed as dogs and barking, satanists parading and other perverted displays. This is the filth which children are being taught in schools across the country, yet a High Court judge believes Enoch Burke is the danger. This is a disgrace.
Let's not underestimate the importance of this statement from oncologist Dr Angus Dalgleish who's due to appear at Dr Billy Ralph's Irish Medical Council hearing tomorrow (May 01, 2026). Why were the Pfizers packed with SV40 if it's a known tumour agent?
The father of Natalie McNally says he hasn't been able to get over allowing her murderer to be left alone with her during her wake.
