I definitely agree with you that Muslims need to respect customs and traditions of the lands they migrate to. Also, while it is a popular misconception that dogs are "haram" or "unclean" , This is actually incorrect. Dogs are a welcome part of Islamic theology and are perfectly fine to be kept as pets. Millions of Muslims around the world actually have them as pets. The only thing that is actually explicitly forbidden about dogs would be the consumption of dog meat, which is considered Haram.

@ThrillaRilla369 Muslim here, I eat next to my friends who are eating pork all the time. They always offer me non pork options like burgers etc so this is never an issue. Just as I make sure to have vegetarian options for my vegetarian friends, my Christian friends take care of me
