Turns out renovating a house full time has similar side effects to backpacking. In that all the physical labor makes all food taste amazing, sleeping even under bad circumstances lovely, and showering feel devine.
@sickgirlmeg I joke about how my body is abusive. It hurts me constantly. But at the same time I try and remember it is part of me, and caring for it will make the experience of living in it slightly less bad.
@lornamcfindy I need to teach myself that it is ok to cancel. I've been in pain and sickly my whole life. I got through our school system with the code, communicable=stay home, just me=push through. I'm 30 with 3 more health problems than in highschool and I can't live like that anymore.
@KathrynAegis@p0ppyfield@TyffiBoo I felt the same, and I wouldn't mind seeing more people recognize they could become disabled at anytime since so many believe we some how caused it ourselves, so they are immune as they would never cause it in themselves, such BS.
@JoannaNoBanana In high school health class we were asked what an eating disorder was and to write a definition of our understanding of it, I had never heard of the term eating disorder before, but I wrote a paragraph about how I hated eating because of my many food allergies and intolerances.
If you're advocating for taking away accessibility which arose during the pandemic (such as remote work/school), you're taking away things that people, especially disabled people, need.
@CreakyJoints I was sick much less last year than normal. I will continue to wear masks around children and large groups, and they helped my nerve pain in my face by keeping half my face warm and shielded from the wind. I will be wearing them long term to help with my many health issues.
@strawbbean You're not the only one. I'm working with my therapist on how to reduce anxiety of calling doctors to set up appointments. I cry and rock, feel sick, and have a horrible time. If I can set it up online without speaking to someone it is a bit better, but still hard. *Hugs*
@BeingCharisBlog Had to sit down, because he said he was feeling faint. I told him it didn't hurt more than the nerve pain in my face normally hurt. He looked at me as I sat on the table like I was a goddess and said, "you are the strongest woman I have ever seen!" He was pale, I chuckled.
@BeingCharisBlog Last summer I had a nerve block, I was supposed to be unconscious, but it didn't work out, so I chose to be awake rather than wait a month. Big needle through my face (local anithestics helped) burning liquid injection in my skull. I cried but held still. The x-ray tech had to
