The S&P 500 Index closed lower for the sixth consecutive week last week. The good news is if the six week losing streak was down double digits or more, the return 12-months later was historically quite strong, up 18.2% on average with a median return of 29.2%. #PFGKC @LPLResearch

We recognize this selloff may have further to go in the short term, but it’s worth noting that the average S&P gain over the next 12 months after a 10-15% selloff has been 22% historically, with gains in 12 of 13 periods back to 1980. As of Friday, the current selloff was 14%.
