@Stephen37341154@trav_gee@monsterhunter45 He may be old, gray, and sleep a lot, but he was the one person smart enough to pack waffles as a peace offering to Faust the Krasnovian Waffle Hound so that our arrest team didn’t get cut down with an M240B.
PUBLIC STATEMENT: Stand down, brave Krasnovians. There is no reason for you to invade Massachusetts. I have made bail and been released.
I want to thank the brave men and women of the Massachusetts State Copyright Police @MassSCP for their professionalism. When they served the warrant on Yard Moose Mountain they did not shoot at my dog. (which is good, Faust would have returned fire and he was in a fortified defensive position with a 240B)
Immediately (literally) after @RocketPulpHack announced that I had been unjustly incarcerated, @filbertwrites started a G0fundm3 (gotta avoid the spam bots!) to Save the Larry. Some of you kindly donated, but I have asked Phil to close that down and send the money to a manatee rescue. (I'll share the receipt when he posts it)
Now that I am a free man I want to put this madness of copyright violation behind me and return to a peaceful life of writing books and jimmy rustling on the internet. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
It has been reported to us that @monsterhunter45 is in serious violation of the Massachusetts State Copyright Law Act of 1724, which clearly states that continual unwanted reposting of another’s content is a violation punishable by being placed in the stocks in the public square
Wow. Considering only a couple of minutes passed between threatening to report me to the police and then saying the authorities know, the Mass State Police are super efficient at copyright law.
@trav_gee@Stephen37341154@monsterhunter45 Technically that would be a co-conspirator. At least Officer Winthrop thinks that’s what they told him back in the Academy in 1974.
@RoboLemming@monsterhunter45 So long as he wears his Scarlet X sweater (Miss Abigail is knitting as we speak) he’s free to continue to write. Our Memorandum of Understanding is clear on that point
@TheOGStone The Massachusetts State Copyright Act of 1724 has universal jurisdiction.
But give us a few weeks. We still can’t find the mimeograph machine so we don’t have a lot of our important forms.
@bordz_m1@monsterhunter45@NathanTheAuthor@PrinceDean78489 His plea agreement requires him to wear the Scarlet X sweater whenever he appears in Massachusetts.
He is also strongly encouraged to wear it at other times as well.
We are still waiting for Miss Abigail to complete the sweater. It's taking longer because of the size.
@RealBigTerry@monsterhunter45 Think of us, though. We'd mostly escaped notice for years and suddenly we're drug into this mess. Officer Winthrop is going to be sullen about this for months.
@Aaragoth@monsterhunter45 We aren’t authorized any more enforcement officers, much less a bonus to hire them. They’ve been offering Officer Winthrop a buyout since 2008.
@DMJim@monsterhunter45 We don’t have that form on our mimeograph machine. In fact, we still can’t find the mimeograph machine. The Windows XP computer we have won’t connect to the Internet, so we’ve been doing everything on our iPhone 5s. Forgive us if we are not all the way up on civil procedure.
@DMJim@monsterhunter45 He did, but we only had form 27B stroke 6. We always carry one of those after the Great Air Conditioning Incident of 2004

@Stephen37341154@monsterhunter45 We are having enough trouble finding all of the paperwork for principals. We don’t have time to prosecute accessories either before or after the fact.
Officer Winthrop once again proves how experience trumps enthusiasm. He made sure to bring some waffles as a show of good will, preventing what would undoubtedly have been a very serious gun battle.

@TonyGeiser@monsterhunter45 How do you think we feel? All of a sudden on a lazy Wednesday our unlisted nonemergency phone rings and somebody is complaining. Nobody’s complained to us since 1998. We’re still looking for the mimeograph machine. The paperwork will take at least two weeks!
