Additionally, people getting into tax comparison for 12.75L and 13L. Again, this has always been the case. Last time this was for 7.75L and 8L.
You should rather calculate what taxes were you paying last year and what you'll pay now, you'll see there's a 25% benefit for 13L.

Don't get misguided for taxes, rather do the following:

1. Calculate your total tax based on tax slabs -> tax liability
2. If your total income is <=12.75L, your tax liability is overridden to 0

In all cases you pay taxes according to tax slabs. This has always been the case

With new tax slabs you'll calculate your taxes. And whatever tax amount comes, that will be your tax liability. If your total income is 12.75L or less, then whatever taxes liability you calculated that'll become 0

@drummatick @i_pranavmehta There's more to it in terms of CTC breakdown awaiting for more disappointment. The actual take home salary is far too less for larger CTC numbers.
Sometimes someone with 7 LPA and 12 LPA might have the same take home salary at the end of month, might differ in other perks.
