Pi Network Rolls Out New Test Token Ahead Of Pi2Day
Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) $PI says it has updated its Launchpad model after feedback from more than 478,000 participants in its first Testnet token launch.
A new Testnet token called SLICE is now live. SLICE will remain a Testnet asset and will not migrate to Mainnet. According to the team, participation will remain open until Pi2Day on June 28.
The initiative aims to improve participation mechanics and user experience ahead of future ecosystem launches.
After a successful upgrade to V21 tomorrow, we will witness the Pi protocol reaching a new level with the addition of the Token Design Framework (PiRC1) on V22 later this month (22nd April) . Projects must have a real application before they can issue tokens. This helps protect all Pioneers and prevents pump-dump schemes, reduces fraud risk, and builds a sustainable ecosystem.
The addition of PiRC1 to the protocol is not just a technical upgrade; it's a commitment from the Pi Core Team that the future of Pi belongs to valuable projects, and we Pioneers are the direct beneficiaries.
Not stopping at V22, Pi plans to complete the V23 upgrade in May 2026, fully supported by SmartContract. If V22 provided a standard framework for tokens, V23 will be the home for projects to thrive and develop.
Together, let's continue on the path illuminated by light, and continue to share and spread the positive values ββwe've gained from Pi Network to the world, showing the world that our Pi Network community truly has value. #PiNetwork
