THREAD 1/10
So, once again you have sidled your way into my DMs unbidden @RoyLilley, requesting that I delete a tweet.
I won’t delete the tweet, but as a courtesy I will explain why I said your blog was a “Bit of a misrepresentation of the hospitals position and legal process”.
@bwfc_elliot It depends on what you think world class *is*.
In terms of proven excellence to date, it really is only Kane.
Bellingham would be next in line.
But to argue Saka or O’Reilly, Guehi, etc… is confusing world class with the next tier down, e.g. top level. James maybe, if fit
@FondOfBeetles@HannahStrege When i worked at the UK government regulator that was “responsible for bodies”, i was involved in developing some information for the public on whole body cryopreservation for the deceased. TL;DR - don’t waste your money 🤣
@nimishdubey In comparison, how dreadful are most of the attempts following his great through balls etc... Maybe playing in what was not a classic team hasn't helped him, and his reputation / personality during and subsequently
@DFrankcom Once had a barmaid in Canada pull the bottles - whose caps she’d expertly removed moments before - away from me after I’d paid, as I hadn’t put a tip down. Baffled me as a 20 year old first time visitor that bar staff wanted tips, and so pointedly.
@s8mb Makes sense re: footballers - lots of free time, financially secure from a very early age, can easily afford and arrange a big family, and peak physical fitness
Thought this was an excellent riposte by @sarahditum to the Origins podcast, which I did find a bit of an excruciating listen (even as a fairly generic middle class middle aged white man myself)
JK Rowling mansplained, by Sarah Ditum (@sarahditum)
What happened to JK Rowling? If only there were some kind of primary source that could tell us why she became interested in the clash between trans activism and women’s rights — say, a first-person essay.
But alas, the archive is silent. It must be, because why else would two male podcasters have taken it upon themselves to solve this supposed mystery?
This week, the ‘Origin Story’ podcast, hosted by indistinguishable journalists Ian Dunt and Dorian Lynskey, bravely shouldered the burden of analysing Rowling over the course of two episodes.
Do they succeed? Not remotely. But they do offer a fascinating insight into what happens when a certain kind of progressive man becomes radicalised by Bluesky.

@AliJaneMoore Quite enjoyed “The house makes more money than my grandson” 🤣
Not sure if it’s funny or worrying how many people take it seriously until they see the handle (sometimes not even then)
@AliJaneMoore@jabberwock951 Absolutely - but I think these things are self selecting, if you chose the job most suited to your temperament. So the majority of hedge fund managers would potentially make lousy doctors and/or dislike it, same if you asked most doctors to go work for Goldman Sachs
@AliJaneMoore@jabberwock951 Junior professionals do often get treated poorly by their seniors in e.g. law, finance, and other “big” professions, maybe just not so much in the public eye, or public sector which *should* be better, though often is not
