Today, June 6, is Ukraine’s Journalist Day.
They carried cameras instead of weapons. They told the world the truth — and were killed for it.
Nearly 30 journalists and media workers have been killed since the full-scale invasion.
We will remember every one of them.

Veteran news anchor Jon Snow has shared that he’s living with dementia, speaking publicly for the first time to raise awareness of a condition affecting around 1 million people across the UK.
Jon and his wife, neurologist Dr Precious Lunga, are supporting Alzheimer’s Society @alzheimerssoc and shared the story of Jon’s diagnosis in @DailyMail as part of our Defeating Dementia campaign with the newspaper.

We’ve partnered with Jon, in association with @Channel4, on a powerful new documentary airing on 20 June. Jon Snow: A Last Big Story looks at how he’s navigating life with dementia, and how, when we all come together, we can change the story.
Thank you to Jon and Precious for their courage and openness to bring much-needed attention to dementia 💙

Today is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. For Ukrainians, this is a painful reality that has become part of everyday life.
Since 2022 alone, Russia has killed 707 Ukrainian children, injured 2,548, and left 2,318 missing. The youngest victim was just two days old - born and killed in a maternity hospital.
These figures may be far higher, as the full truth about what has happened in the temporarily occupied territories remains unknown. In addition, at least 20,470 Ukrainian children have been deported to Russia or forcibly displaced.
Eternal memory to all the children whose lives have been taken by Russia's aggression...
June 4 is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. It honours kids affected by war and violence. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, at least 707 Ukrainian children have been killed. Behind every number is a child whose future has been stolen. Russia must be held accountable for these crimes.

The legendary video for "Sabotage" was directed by Spike Jonze and shot in Los Angeles on a very low budget. The Beastie Boys dressed up as tough cops of the '70s, parodying shows like Starsky & Hutch and Baretta. The car chase was almost entirely improvised, and Adam Yauch (MCA) was actually injured during a fall, but they kept the scene in the final cut. Released in 1994 on the album Ill Communication, the song and video became one of the biggest icons of the 90s: It was nominated for 5 VMAs and is still considered one of the best in MTV history.
Teenagers in Kyiv mourn their friend, 15-year-old Mariia, killed in a russian attack.
Classmates, friends, and teachers gathered in Kyiv to honor the memory of Mariia, who was among the 24 people killed in Russia's May 14 attack on the city. Two sisters, aged 12 and 17, were also killed in the strike. Their father had died in 2023 while defending Ukraine.

The artist behind this painting, Criselda Vasquez, painted this portrait of her parents in 2017. The man in this painting, her father, was recently taken by ICE. He has lived in the United States for forty years. This loss has made it hard for the family to support themselves. If you want to support them, you can go to their GoFundMe here:
