In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth I want to highlight a black hero in STEM that we lost 1 year ago today. Katherine Johnson was a child prodigy who graduated HS at 14, graduated college summa cum laude with a math degree at 18.
She later went on to work at @NASA calculating flight trajectories for notable missions including that of Alan Shepard and John Glenn. Katherine was a trailblazer demonstrating that women, especially women of color, are just as talented in STEM endeavors as anyone else.
