A dam should not just be a pool of water. A dam should serve at least five purposes.First, the water that is dammed should supply a reticulation system for communities.Second, the water must be suitable for fish, so that a fisheries business can begin as soon as the dam is constructed.Third, a dam should contribute to hydropower generation. Fourth, every dam should support an irrigation system. @MoLAFWRD_Zim

I was honoured to be invited by the World Food Programme to feature on their podcast. We discussed several issues, including cooperation through Village Business Units.I explained how the model works: VBUs are not just gardens. They are one-hectare plots that are drip irrigated and solar powered. The goal is for each village to produce at least one cereal crop and at least one vegetable or other non-cereal crop per year.
VBUs are run as businesses. Each village or school business unit must be registered as a company to access investment. They are governed by a board to ensure proper management and accountability. @MoLAFWRD_Zim@WFP_Zimbabwe

When you go into society, leave behind your own ideas and values,
and put on the mask that is most appropriate for the group in which you find yourself.
Access to finance is the bridge to growth. Innovative agri‑credit and insurance are enabling farmers to invest, expand & withstand shocks. Financial inclusion is agricultural empowerment.

Smallholder farmers are the backbone of Zimbabwe’s food system, contributing over 70% of grain production. Government continues to support them through input provision, training in agronomic practices, and small-scale irrigation schemes to boost productivity and rural livelihoods
