UCC, Busoga Kingdom Sign Five-Year Partnership to Advance Digital Transformation
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and the Busoga Kingdom have signed a five-year partnership aimed at accelerating digital transformation across the Kingdom.
The collaboration will establish ICT hubs, computer laboratories, and community resource centres to expand access to digital technologies, equip young people with essential digital skills, and promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive socio-economic development throughout Busoga.
@UCC_Official
I am pleased to announce that the Uganda Communications Commission has formalised a 5-year partnership with the Kingdom of Busoga through a Memorandum of Understanding.
This collaboration bridges regulatory purpose and cultural leadership, with the sole aim of accelerating digital transformation and socio-economic empowerment at the grassroots.
During the signing ceremony, the Kingdom was distinguishedly represented by Owek. Osman Ahmed Noor, the Attorney of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Alex Luganda, the Acting Minister of Justice for the Kingdom.
Our joint strategy focuses on transforming lives by bringing ICT directly into the community. Under this framework, @UCC_Official will support the establishment of localised infrastructure, including Business Innovation and Incubation Centres, e-training portals, and school computer laboratories.
By combining our technical capacity with the Kingdom's vast mobilisation strength, we are actively creating an environment in which local youth and entrepreneurs can easily master financial technology, e-commerce, and software innovation.
Equally exciting is our shared commitment to the creative economy and to heritage preservation. A major pillar of this agreement is the digitisation and preservation of Busoga's rich indigenous knowledge, historical artefacts, and cultural content, opening up new frontiers for regional tourism.
Furthermore, we will leverage the Kingdom's trusted media platforms to champion consumer advocacy and digital literacy, ensuring that as our people connect to the intelligent age, they do so safely and responsibly.
