@howie_hua As a teacher I love educating all- students, teachers, parents. And also I love the idea that teachers all over the world might be using my creations to help students! Warms my heart.
Some people have asked for other grade levels. They are not as detailed and definitely not perfect but here's a link to K and 1 Number Talks if you are interested!

@NovaKatz As a math Coach I encourage my teachers to never use evaluative words to describe a lesson, number talk, problem etc, such as easy, hard, tricky. Let kids try and decide for themselves ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
I'm all about being explicit. Make someone's day by giving a shout out to an educator on Twitter that has directly impacted your teaching. What strategy/idea of theirs do you use?
@clw1226 @skill24@BerkeleyEverett@numbertalks It is based on a few different resources including Parrishโs. Making Number Talks Matter by Humphreys and Parker was a big influence. I have yearlong curriculum for k and 1 but not as detailed- maybe my next project?!
@robertkaplinsky My district is doing hybrid- 2 days at school, 3 days at home. Knowing not all standards are created equal, we are definitely working on prioritizing most essential to least.
@JSchwartz10a I would LOVE to loopโ Iโm certified k-3 and would even love to keep my group for all 4 years! Imagine the relationship building and progress youโd see! ๐ค
@howie_hua Number Line 1- can be used with any operation and other difficult concepts like fractions and elapsed time; 2- can be very structured (numbered specifically for the problem) or open for students to show their own thinking
@howie_hua Can you show a close up of the directions page? Curious to see if this could be adapted for younger elem students to get to know their classmates in a virtual setting.
