@magicschoolai is amazing! I gave Ss the opportunity to use ai in my sci classroom for the first time today. Used their tools to create a custom chatbot that could provide info from a report Ss have to reflect on. #ai #edutwitter

Ss loved having a chance to use the tool in the classroom and it was great to help them grow their understanding of how LLMs can be used to find the information that is desired and all the ways it can be used creatively.

#mathplay review ahead of an assessment. Ss have a few mins to create “army” Ss can choose not to include the speed element of the game if they don’t want to. Teacher and EA have answer key. Students move through questions at the pace of each pair. #mtbos #iteachmath

Displays are normally outside of my wheelhouse, but I had a vision for this upper space that is too high for Ss to use. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. #iteachmath #mtbos #edutwitter

Love doing the true or false card trick at the start of Math 8. I find it so useful to begin to challenge Ss preconceptions and help them see math as a creative subject. The collection of math card tricks on @pgliljedahl’s website has more like this!

Day 1 of math 8, inspired to try #mathplay somehow.. came up with the idea of addition spoons. Played just like normal spoons, but instead of getting 4 of a kind, Ss need to get 4 cards that sum together to a predetermined number. Great for groups from 3-5! #mtbos @MrValencia24
