@HotTakeHockey Yzerman and Verbeek are good buddies and they like to make trades with each other: McTavish + for Larkin.
Cossa is likely traded as well. This will be a crazy offseason for Detroit😮
@BradKrysko When do Seider and Raymond start asking for trades? 🤔This has to be a quick retool because soon those guys will start losing their patience as well, which is the worst-case scenario.
@H3llzCorn3rs@TalkTonysTakes@puckempire Four players are not enough. Stone and Hertl are currently on the 3rd line. That's called depth. Toronto hasn't had quality players like that lower down the lineup, or D-men that can defend and move the puck as well as Vegas.
@eLiaminators@OhNyquist It would be frustrating, considering what Nashville got for Askarov and the many similarities between him and Cossa. Both are 1st round picks with high upside, minimal NHL experience, and similar AHL stats.
@CanucksHouse@AndrewLopezVine@JJHutcho007@NHLRumourReport Hronek is putting up similar PPG numbers now as he did in Detroit, and he still has the same deficiencies in his game, and Vancouver acquired him for pick #17 and a 2nd-round pick. He holds slightly more value now due to his good contract, but his value has not skyrocketed.
@TheProspectDon Most ranked Sennecke lower for some weird reason, but the talent was obvious. Stankoven looked like a slightly worse version of Bedard at the WJC-18, and still is today. Faber didn't get much attention because he was deployed in a shutdown role, but he was excellent in the WJC-20
@RedWingRubbish@GrindLinePod@EvolvingHockey You also have to think about it from a player's perspective. Why would DeBrincat sign a max deal when he can earn a lot more when his contract ends at age 29 instead of 33.
@Nntarno555@Fr0z3nSL4y3r@ProbablyBored13@GrindLinePod Montreal led the league in blocked shots and they play a puck posession style. Colorado ranks fourth among playoff teams in blocked shots per 60 minutes.
Watch Slavin play. He is constantly in the shooting lanes, using his stick or body to block shots.
@RadioUndisturb@waxieman@KotabTweets@Sportsnet@FriedgeHNIC Kapanen and Podkolzin are decent players, but would they be top 6 players on any other playoff team? Hyman was the Oilers last great forward acquisition, and it happened five years ago. I don't get how it's so hard to find legit top 6 talent to play alongside McDavid & Draisaitl.
@jazbo_14@C2CW0@NHLRumourReport He would be a good addition, but Detroit already traded a 1st round pick for Faulk. Trocheck will likely cost even more and he turns 33 this summer. I think Detroit should go in a younger direction and go after players who can be a part of the core and long term future.
@Busdriver247@CamVonHeem@BrianFisherLORW That's not true. Nashville traded Askarov, who had just three games of NHL experience, for a 1st round pick and a decent prospect. Cossa definitely still has value.
