Check out our new paper on macroinvertebrate assemblages associated with kelp understory algae 🌱🦐🐚 Super happy to see this published! @Pippa_J_Moore@DanSmale1@TrawsgoedRunner https://t.co/ngFRRm3yKF
Our new paper (from @MathildeBue PhD thesis) examines the structure of fish assemblages within UK kelp forests. Hopefully the start of a useful baseline for monitoring. We were surprised to see such clear trends in fish diversity with latitude 🧐🐟🌱🌞🌊
BOOK GIVEAWAY! On 13 Feb 1997, nearly 5m bits of Lego fell into the ocean when a cargo ship was hit by a huge wave. To mark the occasion, we’re giving away 2 copies of our book Adrift, a voyage into the lingering legacy of a cargo spill. To enter, just like and retweet this post
Just a reminder that there is 7 days to go to apply for one of three PhD studentships investigating the role of kelp, seagrass and oysters in protecting our coastlines from wave action
UK kelp forests are critical nursery and foraging habitats for commercially-important crabs and lobsters. Our new paper based on BRUV, diving and potting surveys now out in JMBA 🦀🦀🦀 @Pippa_J_Moore@King_Nath1@MathildeBue@thembauk https://t.co/7tTxC37H62
🚨New paper online🚨 Energetic seas can host sensitive habitats and are seeing increasing commercial attention. We mapped temperate reef habitats at a tidal energy site to inform sustainable development:

Delighted to see this published; years of observations and work by lots of great people. We showed that climate-driven substitution of habitat-forming kelps leads to breakdown of a facilitation cascade and impoverished communities 🌱🌊☀️🐟🔥 https://t.co/QXv6zIjkHS
📢📢NEW PAPER 📢📢and our first dive into microbiology of kelps. Want to know how bacteria communities shift between hosts at various spatial scales?? Well read all about it (DM for pdf)🙀🙀🙀 https://t.co/VruwWFs4wz
Calling all divers for help with @Fisheriesbangor research! Do you 🤿around the Welsh🏴 coast in colder months (~Oct-Apr)? If so, have you ever seen edible 🦀🦀 buried in the seabed like this? If so please get in touch e: [email protected] Please RT!
New OA paper in L&O: We examined rates of detritus production and export in dynamic subtidal #kelp forests. We found v high rates of export and showed that detritus many persist for months=high potential for transport and storage=C donor for Blue Carbon https://t.co/Gri2J412x6
📢📢 New PhD opportunity to quantify carbon release and possible storage from UK kelp farms. Project led by @Pippa_J_Moore funded by @wwf_uk and will involve time @thembauk with myself and @King_Nath1 📢📢 https://t.co/JuADIS854E
... the nuances of cultural services ... here we gathered information on 19 sub-classes of CES for the common cockle in 5 countries @UK_CEH 1/
Inter‐country differences in the cultural ecosystem services provided by cockles https://t.co/3vlzQqThve
Glad to see our paper "Inter-country differences in the cultural ecosystem services provided by cockles" is out 🥳 Great collaborative work! @COCKLES_project@UK_CEH
#cockles provide important cultural ecosystem services that differ among nations and feature heavily in NE Atlantic coastal cultural heritage. To find out more check out our new study @MathildeBue@LaurenceJonesES@UK_CEH@COCKLES_project

Check out our new open access paper! https://t.co/Ka8IDNpedK. Schoolies aka baby bass are highly dependent on coastal and estuarine sites, but also move large distances. VidCredit: OliviaLangmead @Dr_Emma_Sheehan @PlymUni@DevonSevernIFCA@EU_MARE@bassangleruk@fish_intel🐟
